Plasmatica - Anecdote 14 - Deadly(2)

Deadly(2) - 14 "You should be very scared, Angel"--- D34DLY reloaded his combat shotgun, noting he was almost out of mags. He levied the sights on the figure, the black and gray armor fading in and out of view. Ensuring the next blast hit, D34DLY tried to delay his ominous assaulter; "Why'd you come after me? I thought you only came after Red-Eyes." Pulling the trigger, the shotgun let loose 4 consecutive blasts, a mix of shrapnel and incendiary rounds. The flames illuminated a small portion of the Plasiphide Refinement Plant. Just my luck; Trying to get a few resources, meet quotas, and now I've got this ass to deal with. Just my -blam!-ing luck". D34DLY was lost in his thoughts momentarily, brought back to reality by the voice of the figure, laced with audio feedback. "You avoided me for a while, it's impressive, I'll admit it."--- D34DLY noticed a small shift in the shadows, and gripped his hidden blade in preparation for a swift counter, "But I've done some research. You'd be amazed how extensive records the Primaros keep on their slaves."--- The shadows kept altering, short bursts of visual static feedback betrayed the attacker's movements. D34DLY had already determined the exposed area of the figure's attack patterns. With a swift flurry, the attacker pounced on D34DLY. Expecting the mercenary to swipe at him, the figure performed a short range teleport behind D34DLY, leaving behind a blur of static in the air. D34DLY anticipated this movement, and had already jabbed his knife in the air behind him. He missed. The ominous assaulter had sidestepped the blade at the last moment, so as to leave his jugular inches away from D34DLY's blade, and level his own at the mercenary's gut. It was a stalemate. "I never miss my marks. You have proven to be strong before, this was not a test. It was a delivery."--- And with that, the attacker faded out of view in a storm of visual and audio static, leaving behind only the knife he had used in the attack, which clattered to the floor. D34DLY noticed it was not a knife however, it was a small data-storage unit, the kind that A.I.s were stored in. But this one was old, and had a unique engraving that the Angel knew far to well. "Hello, GateWay." G.W:"Fuck. You."
