  • I get what you are saying, hard call. Remember the “pros” were previously “noobs” but they played with other noobs to complete the raid. So why don’t the noobs get together to finish the raid first just like the pros

    • damn dude if you mean last wish you better get that light level up about another 40 points and maybe watch a video or two. A lot of people are fine with helping in this community but no one wants carry dead weight.

i just lie about it by saying i know what to do, then let everyone else pick the hard Tasks while i Clear adds and put some decent DpS numbers on the Board so i don't look suspicious i'll occasionally pull out 1000voices for Dramatic effect

IDk, I found a pretty lit group with a friend, legit first time doing it today, didn't even watch any guides. My friend explained everything well. We one phased everything except vault where we had small problems. Too bad I had to go at Riven :( Edit: You know why no one wants to do it with you? Cause you're 546. Get to at least 570 imo and do it

      • I've just gotten tired of teaching people that don't have an idea. But if they know or at least have somewhat of an idea then yea I'll help. But teaching and helping new people is two different things.

        • Just watch videos until you're confident that you know what to do. And hope they don't check stats 👍

        • Because you can’t even take the time to watch the walkthrough on YouTube, if people new to raids would do that than more peeps would help. Datto arguably has the best guides.

          • D2 raids aren’t fun at all, they can be considered beautiful, but they are very boring, with most challenges about jumping here and there at the right time, with little other skill required. Therefore very few players want to teach others where and when to jump and continue dying until they get it. It’s not like VoG or crota or Oryx or Aksis or PoE in which skills mattered and players could make it, whatever the circumstances. Also giving room to the legend/personal success. Now it’s a circus in which apes have to jump in sync. That said you have most Bungie streamers selling you carries.

          • For one your light is to low, from one D1 raid vet to another assuming you're one as well, raise it up 571 and you're golden start to finish. Even with rocket strat. Now secondly, help and teach are two different things, I can teach and have no problem doing so, but I can't teach if someone isn't willing to learn, I'd rather teach someone and get it done, instead of teaching a brick wall how to walk. Got to be willing to learn. Now, say if you were to join a raid group of mine and haven't done it, please be open about it, say you haven't done it before or something, I don't know where people get this "If I say I don't know what I'm doing I'll be kicked" mentality from. Cause that actually happens when you DON'T say anything because people will assume you've done it and know what you're doing. Again, be open about that stuff, cause if you're not and you're in a group with experienced people, they're gonna find out pretty damn quick that you lied about entering the raid, you're not getting any sympathy from me what-so-ever, so when someone plays the victim card of "Oh I can never attempt the raid because I keep getting kicked" sorry, not buying it. Sure some people are asses and will kick but also sometimes have you considered the fact that maybe you might've been the problem? I'm always skeptical about someone saying that. When LW was still brand spanking new, I joined groups that said KWTD and most of the time they were people who have beaten it, so I joined and what did I do? Not lie about beating it cause if they find out that'll make them want to kick me and replace me, I said "Hey I haven't done this before but I have a general idea on how to do it from watching a guide" and they were cool with teaching me because while I was getting my light up, on my own time I was studying the raid. Even on my first few clears I was doing some of the heavier roles because I studied the raid. It actually makes me laugh when I kick someone from a raid group and they call me toxic yet I know they lied about it, and what always gets them to shut up was "If you haven't lied about beating it I wouldn't have kicked you, also you and I wouldn't be having this conversation" Don't lie about beating it, let alone attempting ANY part of the raid, be open about that stuff, lots of people are willing to teach, just let the team know before you start. I've been with a lot of teams and I should know. I have 31 clears under my belt for Last Wish.

          • Best advice is to find a clan - any group of like minded individuals will do. I’m sure there are always some recruiting. That, or host your own. You get to set the terms, and only cool kids can join 😎

          • It’s all time . Learning the raid requires time and patience . Sure you can get carried though but teaching it and spending hours doing so well just isn’t much fun. Sometimes you just want to get in and out and be done with it . And sometimes you only have an hour or so to play . So taking someone new into what could be an all day affair well you get my point . It’s sad but true . There’s a lot of good people helping new people run the raids . Just got to find them.

          • I don’t mind helping teach people the raid if it’s one or two people in the group. I don’t have the time to help 5 brand new people learn all the mechanics. The other end that is infuriating is when a raid noob says they know what to do because they are afraid of being kicked. All it does is cause more wipes and leads to teams splitting apart. If I were to give you any piece of advice it’s to start your own lfg group and let people know ahead of time that you don’t know what to do but want to learn.

          • To be fair, I posted in lfg looking for 4 members 590+ to do a fresh run, ended up making about 4 posts, and still didn't get a single member to join lol. Me and my buddy ended up just joining with another group that was looking. Best days to look are right after reset when everyone including the sherpas are needing to do it. Good luck!

          • Our clan is slowly getting people through the raid. Additionally, you need to get to a higher light man. Do your dailies and weeklies. Until your 560-570, you won’t be able to do damage to anyone.

          • Who's more selfish; The raid veteran who months ago sweated through learning the raids with other noobs and now isn't willing to help others learn. The current raid noob who isn't willing to make his own lfg group and learn the raid.

              • Ive kinda felt the same way, rarely do you ever see people willing to help others learn or be kind to those who havent cleared it yet. On the other hand, ive seen first hand what happens if you say something like "looking for insert class here" or "must be on insert quest step number here" and people just totaly disreagard it

              • Im all for helping out new people. Within my clan this weekend alone we have gotten over 12 people clears for last wish. But we had 5 people all who knew every part of the raid. Easily got to the heart run where it can be a challenge for new people. Also light level is always a part. Mean truly want to be at 570 or higher to even try for the lw raid. You can go in and do the first encounter at 560 but it's a challenge. People don't want to waste 8 hours of their life for a raid. People have work, family and all that. I have a limit amount of time I'm on Destiny myself. I don't think with my clan I wouldn't have 17 clears in my belt and know the raid like I do. (Still only have two levi clears) Finding a group you like and know what to do is hard but I know people are always looking to help. Right now people just want to the the last wish raid done as fast as possible. I wish you luck with getting a clear in the future.

Use the built in xbox lfg- plenty of people are noobs themselves or will be willing to carry you/sherpa you. I use the xbox lfg exclusively so i see these posts all the time- If i have time i join sherpa/new player lobbies and they fill up faster than trying to do raid challenges/triumphs. Your light level will be limiting and you probably will have a hard time finding a group because you wont be able to actively contribute to most of the raid- you could still probably get a carry (probably just riven and heart walk) which means you wont learn anything really, they'll just 5 man everything. EDIT: Watching videos helps but sometimes is actually more annoying than teaching someone who is clueless

                • Yeah training someone new takes alot of time. All 6 players normally have something to do in D2 raids like if one person messes up it's a wipe. There is no clutching. Unlike D1 where the raids where more flexible with newbies.

                • I can imagine. Raid looks great, but still missing that draw older Raids had , like VoG, where it was easier to bring in new Guardians, and fun.
