Exotics are just a Lil too rare.
Yep I know they'll be those out there that just love to grind for everything, but there's grind and there's GRIND.
I don't mind the grind if I can see a Lil light at the end of the tunnel, like the grind for the Chaperone or Ace of spades, you know if you work at it, and succeed we'll be rewarded.
But with things the way they are now, In theory you could play every day for a year and never get a new exotic, just repeats from year one.😬
Something about this needs a tweak, as all it'll eventually breed is contempt and anger toward the constant repeat drops, and lack of new ones, Edge transit comes to mind, two Prime engrams yesterday, both decrypt into that garbage.
If Bungie can quickly fix the Sleeper due to minor complaints, they should hurry up and fix this as there are literally thousands online complaining, roll on Elder Scrolls 6 and Anthem; save me from this pointless unrewarding grind.

Edited by Burnz: 9/25/2018 3:43:30 PMYup this drop rate is just a little too low . i have not found a single new exotic yet and have been playing since launch . i do like them being rare but this is just bout overkill . i wanna play with the new weapons but i cant play more then 6 hr or so a day. shouldnt i be able to play with the new toys too? also its not like i havent been putting in work, i run all the activities and do all my weekly stuff. Ran strikes like 5 hours yesterday , nothing! also the statement that ill enjoy it more when it does is BS . Gjallarhorn is dead and gone, i doubt there will be drop videos like back in the day! If i had at least one of the new news maybe i wouldnt agree here? idk, but what i do know is im lacking in the fun and the grind is starting to not feel rewarding if i dont get a new exotic toy in the next few weeks, ill end up playing a new game that does reward me with the loots im looking for.

I agree with you but maybe don’t increase the drop rates of exotics but maybe have increased chances of exotics in nightfall? Like year one d1? So you at least have as you said light at the end of the tunnel You still want to have that “Holy Crap” exotic feeling And maybe a very minimal buff to the chance of decrypting unknown exotics.

51 RepliesIt’s honestly perfect this way and makes exotics feel special again like Y1 D1. I think a lot of people have just become spoiled and expect to get all the exotics within a month or two like it’s been the last 2 years. Take your time, appreciate what exotics you have, and you’ll enjoy the game a lot more than if you treat it like a job where you have to rush to collect everything.

If you want exotics, do escalation protocol. Have gotten 5 after 20 level 6, & 7 completions, repeating. So it breaks down to 1 every 8 rounds.

While I would love to get my hands on a couple of the new exotics, I am ok with the rarity of the drops. I'm kind of enjoying getting a feel for the new weapons, perks, and slotting. But I know what you are saying. It is rare to get an exotic these days.

I personally don't care, Bungie killed the entire interest in the exotic things on the release of the vanilla version of Destiny 2, most of these exotic things are rubbish.

I dont know how legit this is, as i don't recall where i read about it, but i believe that bungie said something about looking into the too many Y1 exotics over new ones issue, but like i said, don't know how legit that info is. That said, yes i find it frustrating how rare they are now, more so when 3 out of the 4 exotics i got since forsaken going live, were Lords of Wolves and one old Y1 exotic. but still prefer how it is now over what we had back in the start of D2 when exotics were a dime a dozen and little better than yellow colored legendaries. If anything, i believe that they are where they should be and y1 rates spoiled us all. IF i had any say about how exotics drop, i would go for them being as rare as they are now, but have it in a way that when you picked one the system would see what you already have and greatly prioritize those you did not have.

Xur’s original purpose was as an exotic vendor. He’s supposed to have a handful of very interesting/useful stuff that you spend xyz currency on to get. That’s his whole reason for existing. WTF happened?

I've gotten 1 exotic since launch. Meanwhile my friend has received the two-tailed fox, pretty much every good exotic armor for Titans, Trinity ghoul, and Lord of wolves.

Let's be honest, the problem isn't the drop rate but the duplicates. So far I've had 4 exotic drops and each one has been an exotic I already had. Personally I think exotics should be even rarer [b][u]BUT SHOULD HAVE A 70%+ CHANCE OF BEING A UNOWNED EXOTIC.[/u][/b] Alternatively make it so each duplicate reduces the chances of the next one being a duplicate.

Edge transit is being addressed but no exotics are perfect. Im not ashamed to admit that I screamed like a kid when those blade arms dropped for my hunter last night. It was the one armour piece I really wanted and it felt awesome to get. That feeling doesn't happen if you know for certain it will drop soon.

All the exotics I got so far are Y1 exotics (dups).

Technically getting an exotic randomly isn't a grind.

I don't mind it... feels like vanilla D1, but with quests and challenges where you can get amazing exotics like sleeper and whisper.
