I was there for Taken King launch on PS4, I ran the King's Fall raid pretty soon after it launched and all that, the original infusion system from that DLC was trash (too grindy) and they had to fix it in the April update. Once again, they start the first major DLC out with the infusion system being too grindy and they will have to change it again, I just think that is funny

3 RepliesTo much emphasis on masterwork cores, they shouldn't be needed as much as they are, that's the only problem I have with it.

This is different. That one wasn't crazy expensive, it just made it so that you couldn't infuse weaker stuff with strong stuff or else you'd miss out on some power. This is expensive but I can infuse whatever I like and I know it'll get the full power. Its grindy but its not some arbritary nonsense where I had to make sure my weapon was only 5 light lower than the infusion fuel or I'd lose out on some of it. For those who weren't there. I'd have a 300 AR. Garbo If I had a 295 AR I loved. Infuse with the garbo. 300. Np If it was 285 it may get like 90% so it'd be infused woth a 300 but only go to like 297. So this made players hold on to garbage gear that was really high light until they were close enough to get a full infuse to that top light. You had to infuse in steps or just accept it'd lose out on some light levels. 285 -> 290 -> 295 etc

1 ReplyI wont infuse anything for shards or cores before im at max power level. Until then i bet i have hundreds to thousands of the needed ressources.
-
1 ReplyUnless your close to max power level there's not much of a reason to waste resources on infusion... they'll nerf the infusion cost soon enough
-
Yup when 1:1 infusion was NOT a thing and you had to grind HM raid to reach max light. Oh how I loved the April(PoE) update when 1:1 turned into the standard. I also wonder how many motes of light I spent during all of D1. I wish they tracked that stat.

1 ReplyJust gonna put this out there I miss having to upgrade out weapons and armor. Personally it well as if the more I used it the more I adapted to it or the more I learned how to get used to the gun. Could just be me though.
-
2 RepliesAll they have to do is remove the masterwork cores requirement and I'd be happy with the system.
-
Only got 80% of the light from infusing 🤬

I will admit I'm too frugal when it comes to resources but the thing I get hung up on with it is just that I'm leveling pretty quick and it seems like a waste of resources so I just use whatever is the highest light and don't care what the weapon type or roll is... running around in dreaming city with kinetic sniper, energy fusion and crucible sword atm cuz that's what dropped recently. I've even ran trash load outs of 2 sidearms and any one of my dozen-plus Edge Transit collection lol. I'd rather stack my materials until I'm actually at a decent light level than waste them to infuse a gun that will get out leveled in 2 or 3 days, seems kinda wasteful imo. I would do it if someone told me a weapon was specifically needed for a raid or something like that but other than that imma just rock whatever garbage sidearms and Edge transits that happen to drop lol

3 RepliesBlah you wussy ... guess you didn't play year 1 - get a new gun and spend 3 hrs leveling the perks and a hour running around the moon for material... Current grind is perfect!
-
2 RepliesExpect an infusion system that was tried and true in D1 to be resold to us as part of this "annual pass"
-
1 ReplyYou mean plus 4 for purples and plus 6 for exotics or was that RoI? Either way we should have that system back. Also being able to buy planetary materials was the wrong idea. The weapon and armour perks should also be like they were D1.
-
This is way better than the ttk infusion system, is it slow? Perhaps if you are unlucky, yesterday i went up 20 levels almost from doing all the dreaming city stuff. With the raid etc most people will hit 600 in a week or 2/3.

infusion system is fine. why are you infusing gear with anything if you are under 525? 530? lol if you infuse armour pieces with the same armour it doesn’t charge masterwork cores. if you infuse weapons with exotics it doesn’t charge masterwork cores. you can buy 2 cores daily with 30 legendary marks “i just want it now. i don’t want to have to wait to fully upgrade my gear! i don’t want to have to earn the additional stat bonuses, i just want them now!”

3 RepliesGotta remember, farming materials was much tougher in D1. The infusion system is fine.

Who remembers etheric light...

Edited by RichGhost77: 9/13/2018 7:46:32 AMYes, it was awful as it was too easy to get to very near max light. Then it was bad cos you couldn't quite get there, but it made no difference except for OCD purposes. Year one d1 was best imo. You had to raid to get max. And only the raid required max light. Edit. I do actually like it now tho compared to rise of iron or year one D2.

14 RepliesThe new infusion system is good for the game. It forces players to try out weapons before they consider using them as infusion material. I understand that after enough duplicates it may seem frustrating but the materials are not that hard to come by when Spider sells them all!

2 RepliesPepperidge Farm?

4 RepliesThat's the way of bungie... Do something wrong Fix that something Then make the same mistake And the cycle continues
-
2 RepliesI'm just not infusing. I'll either stay lower power or adapt to use whatever the game gives me. I've already taken a liking to grenade launchers. Not quite there with sidearms yet, but it's probably coming.

7 RepliesThe new system is fine, and I’m a dirty casual player. If you get a great roll but the light is too low, put it in the vault and play with something else. When you get something with a high enough light jump to be worth it then whip it out and infuse it. Excuse me while I whip this out ...

1 ReplyPeople know you can just buy materials at the Shore, right? I don't get why people are making such a big deal over the infusion system. Then again, I remember upgrading my D1 VoG gear, so maybe I'm just used to the upgrade grind.

In most games you fight the game to level. In Destiny, you fight Bungie to level.

I'd take the Taken King infusion system over this hella grindy infusion system we have now
