I love destiny but hate the forums

I run lfg A lot. Never have I encountered someone super toxic and it has always been an enjoyable time. Of course there are the people who get frustrated sometimes but raids and stuff are always done simply and we all laugh while doing it. In the forums and reddit, it feels like no one can appreciate the game. I get it this is a place to give feedback but that doesn’t just mean it has to be negative. Let bungie know when they are doing something good so they don’t feel like it needs a change and they don’t feel like overwhelmed with everything supposedly being bad. Maybe I’m just someone who loves the game too much but I think that all of this negativity just doesn’t help our community that used to be fun and strong. Our community now feels broken and toxic, maybe we could all make a change to fix that? • I actually enjoy the forums, its become a place to vent frustration and get a good chuckle. You never know what someone is going to pop off next. These forums used to be even better before they started censoring them, it was like the wild west.

          • When they do something good, I will say it. So far nada. As far as a toxic community, it has been this way since D1. Since D2 it is worse though.

Tell me of any site you use that is a gaming site that is Walgreens? you know, in a perfect world... There isn't one site in the enter internet that deals with a gaming community that doesn't have a form of negative feedback. Just some more than others and I can guarantee this site doesn't even come close to being as toxic as some. I like this forum because it has both, positive and negative feedback. The gamers here keep it entertaining and I like it. Just the smart ones know how to deal with this site and don't take things personally. That's because they know it's just a site and words can't physically hurt you, but for some dumb reason if something someone says does that is on them... I do not let anyone in this entire world control how I feel about whatever so when I leave this site I leave it where it belongs and that is the net.

              • I'd say it stems from the way games are published now. At the start, publishers put out the games in the most finalized state possible because there was no way to make changes after release. Feedback was listened to then used to make improvements that would be implemented in an updated version or sequel of the game. Then publishers were able to add patches after a game's release that used the feedback they accumulated shortly after release to fix issues in the game. Now it's to the point that there's a dedicated live team to supposedly act as a means to fix issues and add content or features to a game that weren't even part of the game at release. If there's a team dedicated to constant maintenance and updating, then constant feedback on issues and desired content would not only be expected, but necessary to justify the live team's existence. At the same time, people have become accustomed to similar streams of constant communication, and thus tend to put major emphasis and emotion in short busts of feedback in attempt to gain maximum attention. So the forums aren't so much toxic and negative as they are people trying to generate the expected stream of feedback that would require a team to constantly develop update and draw attention to issues and concepts they believe are most important. TLDR: The existence of a live team created a self-fulfilling prophecy of negativity because the expected regularity of game updates and the speed of modern communication makes people think their feedback will be looked over unless it has a tone that suggests an imminent execution involving chainsaw bayonets.

                  • Thats what happens when you create a passionate group of like minded individuals who love what youve created. Then you have a kick ass ending to your first iteration that everyone loves. Then you hype everyone for your sequel with things like "Welcome to a World Without Light," and flashy videos. Then you release an extremely mediocre sequel that feels so rushed even the graphics look like 5th grade art class, the story is so bad that its worse than the first, and the pvp multiplayer has been crushed from a 2 liter o cola into a juice box. You tell everyone that you did this because you want to deliver more content faster, but then you absolutely crush everyones hopes and dreams by making the most interesting character in the first game feel like an insignificant moron in the sequel. And you put out even less meaningful content than you did when it was hard...but making content is still hard. You make the content so easy that players are done before they even bothered to care what was happening and then the only way you can make it more challenging is a patch 6 months later after everyone left that makes the nightfall more challenging for zero rewards other than an emblem no one cares about AND THEN you change the Prestige NF to make it even more challenging with zero rewards and for no reason at all. AAANNDD THEEENNN you answer everyones 4 year old request for a fun horde style mode with unique and cool rewards only to put it on patrol with no matchmaking and tune it for a 6+ person fireteam so everyone has to sucker other players on patrol into joining their team only to leave or be kicked AAAAANNNNDDDD THEEENNNNN you put out a post about how you knew that would happen and youre looking into ways to change it in the future but that you have no intention of changing it now so gfy... AAAAAAAANNNNDDDDDD THEREEENNNNNNNNNNNN........you lock everything cosmetically cool in the game behind a system which does let you pkay to earn it when its available but seems like a gigantic fail because of lore stuff that is being sold for real money so whats the point of it...... Jesus H C I could go on. Tl;Dr - Im triggered
i have enjoyed D2 but right now im feeling a type of way about this shit we have and how weve been treated
• A lot of people loved d1 and bought d2 thinking it would be similar if not better than d1. Unfortunately bungie dropped the ball and gave us a complete waste of money. Bungie ain’t refunding anyone that hates the game so why should they not come to the forums to complain? I get it, people love the game, good for you guys, crack on and have fun 👍 but why is it when someone says something bad about the game they get shot down by the BDF? If you guys love the game as much as you say, shouldn’t you be raiding or in chasing the redrix claymore or doing some EP instead of hanging round toxic forums? 🤔

When they do something good? If you asked your boss for a day off to go see your daughter's dance recital and instead he bought you a new uniform, would you say he's done a good thing? Bungie isn't listening, that's why the negative feedback is building up like this. If you don't address the major problems, then they're only going to get bigger.
