Is Dark Souls Remastered worth to buy?

It costs 60$. I don't want to waste 60$ on game I don't like while playing. But should I buy it? There are other games I can buy. Bloodborne complete edition costs 17$.

  • Probably not tbh. Unless you just want to play a heavily downgraded version of the newer souls games.

    • It's not $60 it's $40.00. If you've never played it back in the day,yes it's worth it. If you have it's just same old Dark Souls. With a few changes. More summons, humanity can't heal you etc..

DSR is the worst remaster I’ve ever seen. It changes absolutely nothing from the original except for frame rate and the occasional lighting. No Omni directional rolling, there are still game breaking bugs, there’s still cardboard capes, the game somehow feels worse to play than the original, lost izilth is still garbage and a wasted opportunity AGAIN, but Blighttown is fixed. That sums it up Bloodborne is so much better

          • If you know dark souls and enjoy dark souls then yes. If you get easily stressed playing computer games then no.

Not at all. It's probably one of the laziest remasters I've ever seen. In fact it barely even qualifies as a remaster.

          • Definitely worth it. It's $40, btw. Not $60.

Ive considered it did research and its remaster is apparently reallly bad to the point the original is better so if you have xbox backwards is probably best option or just getting bloodborne to take advantage of sales...always take advantage of sales if you can Edit:But make sure its worth the sale

          • It's 40$ my dude, not 60$. If you can get Bloodborne for less and haven't played that, what're you waiting for?

          • Hmm tricky question, if you do not think it is worth the money then BB might be a better option. If you never played it before the slower and more clunk controls might put you off. I like the game but I can see why it isn't for everyone, if you played DaS 2 first you might not enjoy it as much. It has some bugs and not all problems of the original have been resolved, this makes the game feel a bit shoddy. Maybe wait for a sale, Bloodborne is a good game so it doesn't matter to skip Das over BB.

          • Bloodborne is the best of the quadrilogy, imo.

              • This totally depends on what you are looking for in a game. If you have tried dark souls 1 before and didnt like it, then you will not like the remaster. The remaster is just a somewhat increased resolution, stable 60 fps upgrade, nothing more. However this is all that some people (myself included) really wanted out of it. There are a few other minor changes, however they are very minimal, they wanted to keep the game generally the same (this was stated before the release). There are plenty of videos out there to look at and see if the gameplay is for you. It still runs on the same engine which means that most of the glitches/bugs are still there, and the graphics are still not great, but that is the issue with trying to keep the same very old and broken engine, and trying to keep the game feeling the same. Personally i prefer dark souls over bloodborne, mainly because i prefer the medieval style, and i prefer the more tank like feel of dark souls, rather than the bloodborne fast more quick hitting style. But that is just personal opinion. If you are not sure, then i suggest at least waiting for the remasters price to drop. I believe it is currently 40 dollars (though that may be different depending on what part of the world you are in), it is by no means a game you must buy now, the changes are not that substantial that it feels like a completely different game (again this was done on purpose), the main issue which was addressed very well was the frame rate, and frame rate stability. If this is not what you wanted in the remastered version for the price it is at now, then it is definitely not for you.

              • Both Bloodborne is probably the better choice but nothing wrong with dark souls both great and dark souls is only $40

Bloodborne for sure. Dark souls 1 doesn’t look great to me. Bloodborne because: #1: goth castles and an edgy feel to it. #2: trick weapons are awesome. #3: toughest bosses in my opinion. #4: cool gear that’s different from dark souls games. #5: because it’s a 9/10 Edit: I got about 70/80 hours out of bloodborne with dlc and platinum.
