Faction Rally Ornament Challenge Unreasonable
As a Warlock, pledged to Dead Orbit, I achieved a rank of 51 by Sunday. I got all of the ornaments except for the chest piece, which required 34 VIP chests to be collected (3% completion per chest). This seemed above and beyond what any other classes/factions needed for their chest pieces. I was only able to complete 53% (a little under 20 chests collected) in that time. The ornament's requirements only counted the chests collected, not VIP targets killed (like the double servitors on Titan who only unlock a chest, but don't drop one). I feel like this ornament either should have needed fewer VIP chests collected, or should have included Heroic Public Event chests, or other challenging chests. I was able to get all of the other ornaments without much trouble, but this one was just way too much of a grind to achieve in the span of a week.

Since you got all the other ornaments, you must be at least rank 35. Since you've reached the needed rank for the chest ornament, you can still finish it off this week.

I'm pretty sure you can get the ornament during this week. How I got this done: Went to EDZ, fast travelled to each area doing a quick scan for HVT or HVT chest or "a high-value target is nearby" Once I found one of the 3 I killed the boss, opened the chest and kept fast travelling back to the same spot I killed the HVT so I could double dip the chest opening.

The challenges were all too long and boring. Yeah, loved collecting dusklight and chests on the EDZ for ages. How entertaining. Why not just make it so many kills with a faction weapon instead of collecting boring crap?

10 RepliesThat ornament was not hard. All you had to do was go to Titan and kill the captain/knight that spawned in frequently and then go back and forward between the two areas. The hunter chest plate was far harder than anything for the warlock, particularly as you had to have on all dead orbit gear and it had to be multi kills.

You can complete ornament challenges during victory week as well.

In the previous season faction rallies you were able to do the ornament grinds the week after the rally, as you were still pledged to the faction (to turn in tokens and buy the weapon). I'm thinking you'll have one more week to get the HVT chests. Unfortunately any ornaments requiring renown won't work, but the kill/loot ones should.
