6 weekly power engrams + NF. Moved from 361 to 362. This game is broken.

I'm now 362. Primary: 365 Energy: 365 Power: 365 Head: 365 Chest: 365 Arms: 359 Boots: 359 Cape: 356 My cape is now at below blue levels atm. When I get a blue cape to drop, my cape will move to up 1 point to 357. 100% of my power engrams both last week and this week were head and chest. This is why progression is impossible in this game. You may remember me as the guy who rage spammed the forums here (and was banned) after the game gave me 17 arms in a row from 17 straight power engrams back during CoO. THAT IS NOT A TYPO. It was all 5 power engrams 3 weeks in a row, then the first two the fourth week. 17 in a row. Here we go again it seems....

  • Did you open all of the milestone engrams at once? You're better off earning one/two, claim them, infuse or equip etc then work on the next one/two. I find the milestones more impactful that way.

Bungie has made it clear with Warmind. Non Raiders are NOT welcomed, Solo players are NOT welcomed "Crucible is proof of this". If you don't raid you're fked, if you don't do trials you're fked, if you don't 4 man stack in Crucible you're fked. They slowed down progression for 80% of the playerbase who don't raid or do trials. When it should have been the other way around. People who raid were already 375+ the first week of the DLC. Second week already 385. But punished everyone else who doesn't raid by brutally slowing down progression to the point where it feels pointless. And they want us to buy their DLC this September, yeah fk you! And that's why Destiny 2 is on sale for only $10. That's what happens when you Alienate 80% of the player base.

I get that every week on all 3 of my characters, one item drops 3-4 times in every engram, this week my hunter got 4 cloaks the one slot it didn't need to be, my Titan got 5 legs an my warlock got 4 arms, gotta love bungie stretching out minimal content for 4 months

      • Did you do any of the 3 raids? EoW gives you 3 pieces of powerful gear, prestige leviathan gives you 12 if you do challenge. Spire gives you 4. That’s 19 powerful drops. Per character... Bungie said that people who played endgame would level faster and those who didn’t would take much longer...did you miss that note?

        • Same here.. except I got grenade launchers and sidearms.. The progression system needs work for sure. My progression shouldn't be tied to 5 other players... it should be 100% based on my play time.

        • I think it would be better if they raised the power level legendaries drop at, but be based on your highest light armor and weapon separately. Example, if my highest piece of armor on that character was 370, and my highest primary weapon was 375, I would decrypt legendaries into armor at power 365 (370 with mods). If decrypting into a primary weapon, it would be power 370 (375 with mods). This would allow you to get your lowest gear up, and to a lesser degree, your overall light, but you would hit a cap once all your gear was equal in level. To go higher, you’d still need “powerful gear” from milestones, etc. Exotics should drop with their power level like legendaries, but +5 higher than legendaries. I think the powerful gear drops and blue drops should remain as they are now. This would improve progression, and give many players something to grind for till just before weekly reset when you would want to cash in your powerful rewards (to maximize your weekly progression).

        • Guys what he’s trying to say is raiding should be for obtaining raid specific loot, trials should be for trials specific loot, that solo players should progress in light at a similar pace to raiders/trials players. That getting higher light gear should be something that could happen when you’re doing any activity, heroic strikes, heroic public events, crucible, etc. You play what you like and you level up. If a solo player puts in 50 hours it should be the same as a team player who puts in 50 hours. Some of the most awesome weaps are raid and trials but if ppl don’t wanna chase them they shouldn’t be excluded from hitting max at a similar pace...

Yeah the RNG sucks, but at the same time, you are supposed to do more than use just weekly engrams (not that I disagree with you at all, because I definitely got 5 dang colony's in a row the other week... you never get exotics from weeklies or engrams, here's 5 in a row, oh but they are all the same dang thing) I.e. run normal Nightfall -> hope for light gain -> run prestige Nightfall for power engram for hopefully more gains Same with Raids: Normal Raid for gains -> Prestige for gains For Leviathan specifically, you can skip Castellum until just before calus, in the event you gain levels from drops from the first 3 encounters, then your power engram from castellum will be higher. Also use your keys at the end of your weekly grind fest for higher engrams from the chests in the underbelly. I mean it's a crappy grind, but there are ways to maximize your gains, and weekly engrams aren't really it :( if you can get past the jumping puzzle in Eater of worlds, you can get 2 powerful engrams before Argos If you can pass the first part of Spire of Stars you can get 3+ power engrams/drops before the boss Last but not least, don't redeem your weekly engrams as soon as you get them. wait until your fed up with Bungie for the week and have done all the previously listed crap, then get your weeklies. The weeklies will increase in power as you gain levels through the week. All that said, none of this will help with crap RNG.

          • I turned in 3 of my powerful engrams, and got nothing but 360 chest pcs...that I already had at 360. This is RNG bud - some weeks you may get a crap shoot, some weeks you may score big. That is the nature of RANDOM that so many people seem to forget with MMO-esque games.

            • I'm 371/372, no raids. If blues are higher than your gear well that's your fault. Next time infuse it so it's not higher. The last two weeks I got 6 high level grenade launchers, so yeah that sucked but was able to get a piece of every armor to keep it going somewhat.

Okay first of all. Make sure your gear is as high as it can go before you collect any powerful engrams. Every time blues start dropping higher than some of your gear, just grind lost sectors repeatedly (you can kill the boss in a few seconds and ignore all the other enemies in some of them). The chest almost always gives blue gear so you can raise the level of all your gear. Once your gear is as high as possible, collect the powerful engram. If it increases your level again, grind lost sectors again, etc. Every time you collect a powerful engram, you have to do this to maximize your power increases. I assume you don't raid, but you could try to get a team together to just run the Leviathan entrance for a free powerful engram... 2 if you do prestige and normal. All you have to do is kill stuff. And also strikes can drop stuff up to 365 now. Reaching high valor rank in PVP also gives powerful gear rewards... I know the grind is ridiculous for non-raiders, so start grinding.

                • Throw a legendary mod on your cape and then infuse it. If it’s one light level below blues that should jump it up by six

                    • I’m less than that. If you don’t raid light is absolutely pointless. I don’t care if it takes me until September to reach 385 (if I’m still playing). This dlc feels like one of the worse we’ve seen throughout destiny 1 and 2. They built up the hype, I’ve seen post prior to release comparing it to The Taken King. It just feels there’s nothing worth playing.

                      • Hey, I have 1 character that's done Leviathan twice, a third run that got us to Calus but we didn't finish, and EoW, we're working on now. His light is the same as my 2 characters that haven't done any of that, and I don't transfer weapons. So everyone is using what they've earned. RNG is RNG. It sucks sometimes, but the game wouldn't last a month without it.

If you want fast progression then do the raid, do trials, do escalation protocol etc. I'm just taking my time, it's not a race.

                      • This might help, I only do 2 milestones a week and I move my power level a consistent 3 points a week (yeah I know big deal) I cash in the first one I complete right away (flash point) then go out and finish the 2nd. When I cash in the second it always is 1 or 2 points higher than the 1st. I only started playing Warmind last week.

Two-week 385 plan, just for you: 1) Normal leviathan with no castellum, save your keys (Turn in tokens to bring up your lowest light level item if necessary) 2) Prestige Leviathan with no castellum, save your keys (Turn in tokens to bring up your lowest light level item if necessary) 3) Eater of Worlds (get the hidden chest, nobody is going to go back with you just to get this later) (Turn in tokens to bring up your lowest light level item if necessary) 4) Spire of stars up through boss phase 1, do challenge (Turn in tokens to bring up your lowest light level item if necessary) 5) Do all your milestones but don't turn them in (Turn in tokens to bring up your lowest light level item if necessary) 6) Normal nightfall, and turn in the engram you get from the final chest (Turn in tokens to bring up your lowest light level item if necessary) 7) Prestige nightfall, and turn in the engram you get from the final chest (Turn in tokens to bring up your lowest light level item if necessary) 8) Normal Leviathan Castellum, and turn in the engram you get from that chest (Turn in tokens to bring up your lowest light level item if necessary) 9) Prestige Leviathan Castellum, and turn in the engram you get from that chest (Turn in tokens to bring up your lowest light level item if necessary) 10) Turn in your milestones (Turn in tokens to bring up your lowest light level item if necessary) Move your most powerful weapons to your next character, and repeat the above. (Turn in tokens to bring up your lowest light level item if necessary) Move your most powerful weapons to your third character, and repeat the above. (Turn in tokens to bring up your lowest light level item if necessary) Pick whichever character is still hurting the most, go into the Leviathan and use all 9 keys you got from the raid. Open your clan engrams. Two weeks, you'll be guaranteed 384, and probably 385.
