I just farmed the Escalation protocol and completed it 4 times in a row with these random people and so had finally dropped it. To my surprise it wasn't anywhere on me. I checked my bags... not there. I checked my postmaster... not there. Where did it go? I literally saw myself picking it up and it said at the top right of my screen when you loot an item. Really upset about that one. D.A.R.C.I. is what's it's for. The catalyst for that exotic.

It seems to be 100% RNG as I've too spent hours daily playing to only get the first one (DARCI, which I couldn't care less for - grrr) yesterday. To give you an idea about how much I've been grinding, I've already decoded 36 nodes (which with all the duplicates one gets, is a LOT of time grinding). I however activated a Three of Coins yesterday on PVE on Mars and it dropped rather quickly after that during a Heroic Event from one Wizzard (but I had to go to where the wizzard died to get it, no indicatios whatsoever it was there to pick it up. Wondering if the Three of Coins increases the chances for a drop - this would make sense when it's made for Exotic drops and, well, we are talking about 'excotic' catalysts here... Will keep trying on with Three of coins and may update this comment if it seems to indeed influence the RNG % chances for a drop. And as many have reported, check all your Exotic. It's easy to miss one drop (not picking it / seeing it) and it goes straight to your exotic weapon. Not even into inventory or the postmaster, which is dumb from Bungie if you ask me! Come on Bungie, the grinding is already excruciating in this new DLC, no need to frustrate some even more not even knowing they actually got one or more catalysts...

I have the same problem. I play nearly everyday since Warmind releases with all 3 charakters, PvE also PvP and non catalyst. One of my friends get more then 4 and i have nothing, it makes me a bit sad. I hope this a bug and Bungie fix it as soon as possible. When not... Hoping to get one some day :c

I can't tell if I'm having trouble or not. I got one relatively early on, then wasn't getting more so I figured you could only have one in progress at a time or something. Just a few minutes after finishing the first one a second one dropped, which I completed immediately. I've got a good bit of playtime in since then without any, soI don't really know how it works. It seems strange that I'd get one so quickly, not get any til it was done, get another immediately after, and then just not get any anymore.

I have been playing heaps since launch and also have not had an exotic catalyst drop yet. I heard keeping the code fragments in your inventory MAY affect this. Those are the things you get from the Nasent Dawn quests. They can be safely discarded which I've done. Will keep you posted if I start getting some drop.

The catalyst go directly to the exotic weapon. If you recieve rewards from completing events you might miss the icon in the loot thread that shows up upon collecting the rewards. Your best bet to confirm you don't have any is to visit the collections part of your vualt and check each weapon to see if the catalyst icon shows up. For example, if you have DARCI in your vault but not in your inventory and you get the drop but didn't see it in the loot thread, it would still be there. It's kinda annoying but it's the only way to be sure. I'm sure most of the people here have gotten one or two, but have just missed it in the loot thread.

I'm actually having the same problem! I have like over 40 or 50+ hours in warmind and have not got a single one and have friends who play way less then me and already have three.

Hello there. I believe that the new feature with the Exotic Catalysts are either completely random as in drop rate or some secret thing you have to do with the weapon. Ex. I used the new exotic sword's special ability and after killing a few enemies whilst on Patrol, the Catalyst dropped for me. Sincerely, Grammsay

i am having the same problem. i have played non stop for the past week and i have zero exotic catalyst to drop for me as for my friends they had multiple catalyst to drop for them. i dont know if it a bug or just rng but damn it sucks
