One thing that makes Destiny 2 so boring is the fixed rolls on weapons. I mean, back in D1, sure there were some weapons that had fixed rolls, but not every single one! If random rolls were restored, that may be a start to resurrect my interest in this “inferior sequel.”

i have a solution.. leave static rolls in vendors for ppl to buy. and put random rolls in certain engrams.

1 ReplyPersonal opinion here: No, we dont need random rolls. The game is already structured around static rolls and a mod system. The problem is that the mod system is too shallow and too ineffective. What they need to do is have the stats be fixed, as they are now, but all the perk nodes need to be converted into Mod slots, and the perks themselves need to be mods that you grind for. This is basically how Warframe does it, and it works incredibly well. Will it result in some OP perk combinations? Yep, it sure will. But every player has the same opportunity to grind for those perks, just as they had the same opportunity to grind for the 'god-roll' in D1. It'd be nice if people would stop fighting the systems the game is built on, and start figuring out how to make them better.

Edited by JJIBIIIS: 4/25/2018 7:25:12 AMThe game is boring and it has nothing to do with the weapons, it has everything to do with the weapons and every other aspect off the game that Bungie decides to nerf or remove! The game isn’t doing as well as it’s done to date because the game is good, it’s because “we”want a good game and im certain if things don’t change soon, Bungie will feel the sting soon enough!

Yes and at the same time let's have Bungie stop reusing weapon models and start designing unique looking weapons. Take Redrix's Claymore, it's just Praedyth's Timepiece from D1 with different perks and a different look! Do Bungie have no design team over there?

No! We don't need more garbage slot machines on the already garbage slot machines we have.

Edited by TheEternalNewbie: 4/25/2018 7:07:44 AMAt the end of the day I am on the fence about this one. It all depends on the implementation. If it is just more RNG on top of existing RNG like people seem to be clamoring about it sounds lazy and uninspiring. If there are layers to it that add control to the player it could be good. Mods, reforging, whatever. I found Frontier Justice sitting in my vault and decided to use it in IB. It was Midtown, I took to the back, switched to long range scopes and started popping those Vigilance Wings. For my effort I was eventually sniped with the Golden Gun and I was like...for me? ❤ Now if I could get better perks to that Frontier Justice I would admit it being very sweet. Hence the fence.

For the hundredth time, random rolls aren't important. Powerful rolls are.

2 RepliesEdited by Mar: 4/24/2018 8:43:41 PMWhat i say is that if bungie is going to bring back random roll weapons they should make all normal weapons (anything from engrams, vendor rank increases, etc.) random rolls, while making things from the raid (and probably trials since its the PvP equivalent) static rolls or at the LEAST make them pull from a much much smaller perk pool. Raid weapons, and trials, should feel like a unique weapon unlike most others because of what is required to gain them. Having too much RNG into those could ruin the feel of them entirely. Personally though im niether against them coming back or it staying static, i just hope that if they do bring back RNG to weapon perk rolls they don't go too far and make the chances of getting even 1 good weapon so low its more annoying than anything.

You said should “we”? Are you going to code the game and bring back random perks?
-
No, Bungie should move on and give us full weaponisation/Gunsmithing.
-
Unless Bungie is going to craft THOUSANDS of weapons with individual fixed rolls, Yes. There has to be some for of randomization and meaningful customization. This game simply will not work without it.
-
1 ReplyThe question is no longer “should they?” because they are. We don’t know in what capacity, but they have promised random rolls in the Fall of 2018.
-
Even if it was just one perk that was random rolled that would help. Having two may have been to much for them to manage but I'm all about it. That what makes the loot worth it. Even armor had a reason to have multiple and one with the perfect roll because the perks actuslly mattered like grenade throw and sizeable ability recharge.

2 Repliesstop with random roll post read road map and insert head

Yes to random rolls and bringing back armor perks and cool down int/dis/str etc!!! It has to happen. This game is really inferior to the first one.
