How do you convince your parents to let you play XBOX LIVE?
Well how do you? My parents won't let me connect my XBOX 360 to LIVE so I am missing out on all the fun of Halo: Reach.
Why? My parents think that when you connect your XBOX 360 to the internet you'll get a virus and it gets bricked so you'll have to buy a new one and my parents don't want to waste huge amounts of money.

why dont u show them some videos of people playing some games online.Watch the video befroehand just to make sure uts got no bad people in it. then let ur parents see how harmless it is. Xbxo live is a secure network the only way u could get a virus is by modding it i think??

Tell them that you are in fact, a 32 year old computer geek who has kidnapped their son and replaced him with a cyborg-look-a-like which you control via remote from your cellar down the street. Then tell them that if they want to see their son again, then they must do everything required to get xbox live and grant you immediate access. They will really only have one choice...

I get on before my dad gets home and laugh at his silly attempts to steal the remote from me when I get up for a min or two. Although, he did actually get up once and use the TV to change the channel back to 3 to watch his show. I was impressed by that, I did not see it coming.

I had the same problem. You're not alone. I'm actually not joking here, I really wanted Xbox Live more then anything. I thought about it day and night, my friends talked about it hourly. I felt so angry at them. I literally prayed and you know what, the next day my dad said yes. I then got Xbox Live, and the next day Reach came out. Now I love my life. My problem was that my dad thought I would play it too much though.

I hate it when people do stuff like that. Tell them xbox is made by microsoft. Microsoft= one of the, if not the biggest companies in the world. If microsoft was to give you a virus, you could sue them. Microsoft doesn't want to be sued, therefore they dont give viruses. Also show her this forum about all the people playing Reach online. I'm 22 now, but I beta tested Xbox Live when it came out. There wasn't much convincing, my parents trust me and they kept an eye on the games I play.

Tell them that is the worst logic in the world. Xbox LIVE is a secure service provided by a trusted, though greedy corporation. You can't get viruses through XBL.
