60 fps on Console

I know there are already a lot of stuff in the works at Bungie, but 60 fps on console was not on the road map. Playing other games on my Xbox One S seems like such a great time. I love to hop back onto destiny 2 and play the newest nightfall scoring update, as well as some Crucible. The only issue is that it takes a few minutes to slow my head back down to re-adjust to the 30 frames. The reason that I bring this up is that Epic Games (creators of fortnite) has recently increased the frames in their Battle Royale portion of the game (not in save the world), and I think Bungie could provide that as well. It is overall a quality of life update that needs to happen. Gameplay would look even smoother than it already does, the skyboxes and environment that the Bungie team has created will look even more spectacular. I know that after the update that added 60 fps to all consoles on Fortnite Battle Royale, the difference was incredibly noticable and my friends and I found ourselves commenting on how good the gameplay felt, and how good the game looks. Thank you for reading! Please if you agree with me or have also been interested in 60 frames on console, comment below.
If a Bungie Dev does read this, please take this into consideration. Thanks!
• No chance. 1.6GHz-2.1GHz processing power depending which console you're on just isn't powerful enough. The console can barely handle 30fps with Destiny 2. The reason for this is because alot of people don't even know what frame rates are. It's easier for Sony and Microsoft to sell consoles based on resolution. Easy marketing. So they they sacrifice the processing power for the sake of things looking good rather than smooth. It's not bungies fault.

  • We won't get 60 fps due to the way resolution is marketed. The number 1080p and UHD 4k are the numbers that sell. Those resolutions require more power then the consoles can consistently achieve. As a gamer I would much rather have 720p resolutions at 60fps then 1080p at 30fps. The average consumer responds to the bigger number where the hard core gamer responds to the higher performance.

For the TL:DR, it ain’t going to happen and Bungie has already talked about why. Consoles don’t have enough power to run D2 at 60 FPS. Bungie opted to have more stuff in game (I.e more enemies on screen and more detailed art) over having 60 FPS. In order to get to 60, they would’ve had to strip a lot of stuff out that they weren’t willing to do. For example: have you ever been in the witch ritual public event and noticed how when multiple supers are activated it absolutely kills your frame rate? That’s exactly it. They’d rather have a smooth 30 throughout all activities and have it at “60” and it vary based on activity. As for having it on Xbox 1 x, for pvp at least, they are not allowed to have one section of folks be able to play at 60 and another section only at 30. Sony and Microsoft have rules on that to keep it with an even playing field.
