Hey Bungie, I know you're working on stuff, but hear me out. (Part 1)

Destiny 2 was disappointing to pretty much all Destiny 1 veterans, and the main reason for that was because of how many features Destiny 1 had that simply weren't there in Destiny 2. On top of that, many changes that people were asking for in Destiny 1 that never occurred, still hadn't been implemented. I know you've got an expansion to work on in addition to all this other stuff, but I really believe a lot of player frustrations with Destiny 2 will be alleviated should the following improvements be made when possible. 1) Replayable Campaign, along with manually selecting Strikes In Destiny 1, each individual mission in the game's campaign had its own location on the map that could be accessed directly from orbit. In addition, each campaign mission could be replayed on its original difficulty as many times as the player wanted. This was good, as it allowed players to re-experience the campaign (even if some believe it to not be very good). The campaign made up a large portion of content for Destiny 1, and the fact that the content remained playable after its initial completion meant that players had more choice when playing the game. The only flaw was that the first mission wasn't replayable (which it totally should've been given that every other mission was). Destiny 2 has the exact opposite scenario. While some might still say the campaign wasn't very fun for them, many would say it's far better than Destiny 1's campaign. Now, however, after initially clearing a mission on a character, we can no longer go and replay that mission at its original difficulty. In fact, we're only allowed to go and replay campaign missions when Ikora offers them to us as Meditations, on a higher difficulty than they were originally, and only once per week on each character. Basically, doing a complete and in-order run of the campaign becomes completely impossible after your first completion on each character. Like I said, Destiny 2's campaign is far better than Destiny 1's. In addition, it is a huge chunk of the game's content. Limiting access to this content to the degree seen in Destiny 2 is...well, it just doesn't make sense. You guys worked hard on the campaign, right? Well let us enjoy it! A similar problem is present with Strikes (as specific Strikes cannot be selected by the player as they could in Destiny 1), the exact same problem is present with Adventures (another relatively huge chunk of content that's barred from the player once completed). I propose that every campaign mission should be replayable from the director (including the prologue and the missions where players go to reclaim each subclass), just like the campaign missions in Destiny 1. In addition, I propose that players be allowed to select specific Strikes to run, and to be able to replay Adventures too. Each one should have an icon on the map where it takes place, just like it did in Destiny 1. Sure, there are lots of players who will probably never use this feature...but the mere fact that the choice is there will probably make them feel better about playing the game. 2) Crucible playlists should be setup differently Having separate playlists for expansion maps will only serve to divide the players unnecessarily. Instead, skew the matchmaking to be more likely to throw players with the same dlc into matches together. Then just choose a map that everyone in that match will have access to. This will serve to streamline the matchmaking process. As for the playlists themselves, there should be a separate playlist for each game type: * Control * Clash * Supremacy * Rift * Rumble * Countdown * Survival * Capture The Flag (Maybe?) Furthermore, there will be two additional playlists at the top: * Quickplay * Competitive The former will prioritize getting a match together quickly and making sure everybody has a stable connection, whereas the latter will prioritize setting up a game with evenly skilled players and making sure pre-made fireteams are matchmade with others of their kind. The game modes for Quickplay and Competitive will be totally random. You could hop into Quickplay and end up in a Survival match, or you would hop into Competitive and end up in a game of Control. As for Iron Banner and Trials, I'd definitely recommend re-implementing level-based advantages. It was what made Iron Banner stand out in Destiny 1, and Trials is...well...Trials, so it needs to come back there. Lastly, all playlists should have numbers on them showing how many players are currently in that playlist at the time. End of Part One Kinda busy at the moment so I have to leave it here, but I've got more to say about this and I'll make another post soon.
