If you played laser-tag week then you could have noticed that when you have a gunfight with the Prometheus Lens the shooter also takes damage with a lag and usually in the form of big chunk. My guess is it has something to do with the way networking is set up in Destiny 2 In Halo Reach if a player killed you but you managed to get the last shot then the game spawned an invisible DMR after your factual death and fired that shot. Source: http://www.gdcvault.com/play/1014345/I-Shot-You-First-Networking Destiny 2 probably has similar mechanic related to incoming and outcoming damage to make things fair and compensate the network latency, maybe that's why player who outputted insane amount of damage with a jitter-mode exploit ignores all incoming damage for a short period of time. If you look at their movement you can see that they are not lagging. It only happens when you shoot them and they shoot back, that is why i believe it has something to do with damage calculation and latency compensation. It is weird because players are using exploit and outputting insane amount of shots and damage, just like tap-firing Prometheus Lens. I can upload full games by the way. One video is not mine.
