One of the (many) glaring shortcomings of Destiny 2 is the overall lack of endgame content. Adventures help flesh out events surrounding the Cabal invasion (Red War) through the eyes of the Guardian (protagonist). As of today, January 28th, 2018, nearly 4 months since the launch of Destiny 2, not a single Adventure (which are repeatable), of which there are 30 total, offers a Luminous Engram as a reward. In fact, the rewards offered for completing any of the Adventures are not good enough or worth the time to grind for at any point in the game. The best way to grow in power in Destiny 2 is to reach the Endgame and grind Weekly Milestones for the high power level engrams, called Luminous Engrams.
30 Adventures, if reworked by Bungie to offer an Endgame level of a challenge, could offer some of the missing Endgame content everyone is calling for. If every single Adventure offered an Heroic version, similar to what Mercury offers, then Bungie could utilize content which already exists in the current state of the game. Two tokens and a blue is not the level of reward fans are looking for. Bungie could expand on existing NPC vendors or create more of them, by offering new loot. Imagine if you could grind an Heroic Adventure on the EDZ for gear only offered on Earth. Rewards like guaranteed Masterwork gear and a vendor system that offered extremely rare gear so grinding tokens and Heroic Adventures became more valuable.
Iron Banner is coming up, imagine if Bungie released a dozen new adventures spread throughout the solar system expanding upon the lore in Desiny 2, especially the lore surrounding the Iron Lords. Bungie could do the same for Faction Rallies. Not a single Adventure is offered by any of the 3 factions to expand upon the lore of the game. So many missed opportunities to flesh out the game. Not a single Adventure of the 30 available is worth replaying for rewards and the Administrators for Bungie do not find it worth the investment of their resources to expand on either Faction Rallies or the Iron Banner.

1 ReplyA lot of the adventure are pretty nice and interesting. A shame we weren’t required to play them. Shame there weren’t good rewards for doing so. There’s a chunk of the story right there.
-
Most of them remain incomplete for me. I agree, something like this should be done.

1 ReplyI look at the adventures as the replacement for the D1 daily mission. Of which in D1 you did get something for it. So agree with you. Take it one step further; if say Mercury had 3 adventures, finish all three and get an illuminated engram. That would be the equivalent of other activities to obtain one.

I agree, adventures could do with better rewards, I want to do them for the story but just don't because i don't feel like they're worth the time. If it was a milestone to complete several adventures on a planet for a piece of unique powerful gear i'd do that
-
I stopped doing adventures because I got tired of trying to remember which ones I had already completed (that and they weren't rewarding). How hard could it have been to have some sort of system that would identify completed adventures? There isn't even any third party websites that do this similar to the one that tracked D1 ghosts.

Agreed

i totally agree. As a new player-that's actually what i thought happened with the adventures after max level. i was fairly surprised to find out they don't become rewarding in a level appropriate way since they clearly intended people to repeat them. i assumed that maybe that was in the works or something

Edited by rustopholis: 1/29/2018 3:06:38 PMYou may agree with this. If u do share it so maybe bungie will pick it up and get a few of these ideas. It also covers adventures and how they all should have been.

adventures? what are those. O yeah i had to do some on Mercury to unlock the forge, it was a huge waste of time. They don't offer anything so why do them. i can get more in 2 min of opening chests and killing enemies on any planet then from doing the adventures. The reward system is messed up, you spend 5 min or so doing the public even on mercury and 2 tokens and one or 2 blues. I can get 2 tokens in less then a min and blues are trash once your leveled up, just armor material. They ahouls make the activities that take longer give us more rewards. Give us a reason to waste our time. lol...

That's not a bad idea and it would give everyone a chance to obtain gear since virtually anyone can complete Adventures and it would give them incentive to do so.
-
Adventures should have Heroic reworks done for all of them. Not just mercury and allow for end game powerful engrams to be obtained or even Ever verse specif loot items only obtainable by completing both variations of the same adventure.
-
I only did them on earth on my main character. Since the rewards are garbage, I skipped the rest.

Edited by W33DEDPLAGUE: 1/29/2018 3:41:26 AMI like the idea, adventures are some of the more unique experiences in the game too, but I've only done 4 or 5 plus the mercury ones because of rewards...it's not useful and some kind of better rewards, be it specific items to the adventure, bright engrams or something is needed...they could do a weekly milestone with a rotating adventure every week...and talk about an opportunity there to add a few hidden exotic paths like black spindle, just like 3, that can't be too hard...hmmm

I believe they already said they are working on addressing adventures. With the heroic version of the ones in Osiris being a step in that effort.

I like these ideas.

That Sir, deserves a Bump

I agree. It would be great if you could replay 'Heroic' versions of these adventures in a similar way to the Curse of Osiris adventures on Mercury, for enhanced rewards. I really like the challenge of the Mercury adventures and the verses needed to get the vexified weapons.
