Guardian strength over time.

It seems like Guardians have changed in strength over time, with our peak power coming with The Taken King. Before D1, we have stories of Crota killing thousands of Guardians, but by the time we get to him, a fire team of six is all that is needed. And now, with D2, we lost our powers and got some of them back, and some abilities have changed. With our traveling in time in the new DLC will our powers and abilities change to reflect the time we are in, and the amount of light we can get in a given era? Should it?

  • Our peak of power came at the end of Y1. So many good things were nerfed or taken away when ttk launched that its hard to say with a straight face that ttk was the peak. In truth we got more n more powerful until how and then our guardian strength started getting worse as they tried to balance pvp

    • Actually when Crota killed thousands on the Moon that wasn’t his real body; Eris describes it as a shadow The only way to actually kill Crota is to face him in his throne world, so that’s what we did since we didn’t have to try sneaking past his shadow body. Eris and her team tried the same thing but they weren’t able to make it to Crota before being killed off So to state more clearly: any small team of Guardians able to survive long enough to grab the sword and attack Crota IN HIS THRONE REALM can kill him easily, but trying to kill him outside of his throne realm is literally impossible for Guardians

    • All you needed was some Gallys, garlic bread and a decent sword runner. Sit back an enjoy that sweet loot. Necrocasm is still good

    • Read "Into the Hellmouth" if you like lore and are curious about Crota. Its a fanfic about The Great Disaster that follows the actual grimoire lore very closely with some creative filler. To shed some light on the subject though, the guardians that faced Crota during The Great Disaster didnt understand the sword logic or ascendant hive and their throne worlds. They were basically fighting a manifestation of his body.

    • Well the thing w crota is that when he killed thousands of guardians, they didn’t have a plan and were basically surprise attacked. And he had his soul and his body intact, whereas we either fought just his soul or just his body in the ascendant realm.
