We don't need trials anyway we have the cosmetic prestige raid to keep us busy.
The new shader is the pinnacle reward for this entire game.

Most the rewards for Trials are cosmetic as well. The content only appears to the most hardcore players, without giving them an advantage. They are already better at the game, they don't need weapons that make it even more unfair. Its not really fun for anyone. Get used to the concept that Destiny gear is mostly a cosmetic thing. This has literally been the case for a long time anyway.
