Lore Archive System

Hello and thank you for taking your time to read my idea for an effective method to deliver the lore in destiny 2. Now first I'd like to say that this is going to be rather long, however I will have a TLDR located at the very end in a Spoiler section. Now that that is out of the way, please let me begin. So the Archive System, as it would be called as from the title, would be a codex for all the information of the game and it's prehistory, which I know the community has been asking for for years now. First, the Archive would resemble a Record Book from Destiny 1, for anyone who doesn't know, these Record Books would offer challenges for players and if completed, would give players rewards, being guns or armour or even shaders. In this case, the Record Book would be located in a 5th section of the main menu, known obviously as The Archive. First off, why I think this would be great, not just from a gameplay perspective, an endgame perspective but a lore and story perspective. With the Tower destroyed and all our records gone, you would think the Vanguard and especially the Cryptarcary would be eager to recollect all our lost knowledge. So how I imagine this, you would be given a Milestone to visit Tyra Karn or even Ikora (however I feel it makes sense for Tyra as well as giving for players reason to go to the Farm. As for what would follow, it would be a request from Tyra (or whatever NPC you think would be best to give out this request) to help recover/recreate all of humanity's lost knowledge. The Milestone would change to, complete one Archive mission or whatever you would like to call it. Now on to the Layout of the Record Book and the "Archive Missions" as I'll call them for the time being. The player would open the book to the sight of three rows along the first page with the words "Weekly Archive Bounty/Missions" (which ever sounds cooler) As the title states, these Bounties would reset every week, changing with whatever other Bounties are in the archive pool. I would suggest a total of 12 separate Archive Missions, each one cantered on an enemy faction or important instance of the lore, with only 3 being available to complete every week, thus adding things to accomplish in the endgame, as these missions and whole section would be limited to only those who've reached Lv 20 and completed the Champaign. What would follow is that after gaining access to the Archive, the user would be able to Start or Activate the Bounties by taking their curser or what're you call the think you move around the characters screen and selecting one of the 3 missions/bounties who'd like to complete. At which point, you'd be given a patrol inspired mission or request to complete. For instance, allow me to create a Vex Archive missions for a player to create, at least for this example anyway. The first mission would be "kill 10 Vex on Io" after completing this mission your Ghost would make a comment, about a paragraph or so, a general comment about the Vex that you already know from one or two playthroughs, however this would be followed by an option at the very bottom of your screen indicating an option to press "Select" to learn more. Doing this would open a Lore Tab of a full page and a half or so, Perhaps even longer. This first Lore Tab however would only be, again only a general statement of what we already understand from the Vex through Gameplay. Something along the lines of (The Vex are a Timeless Technologically hyper advance race. They seem to posses the ability to travel between timelines and simulate every possible outcome) - again this is literally just the toughest skeleton of what could be written about the Vex. Next, the player would have to kill 15 vex with Critical Kills. The comment made by your Ghost after this mission would be something along the lines of "so that milk stuff inside the Vex, just like failsafe said, it's organic. The Vex aren't fully machine" or something like that, something that would interest the player enough to press Read Lore. These missions would continue on for 10-15 missions in total, taking a total of about 8-10 hours to compete them all. Each mission would add more lore to the Archive that players could reread at any given time. The first 5 or so missions, and their Lore Tabs respectively would solely focus on what had been previously established. However the following 5-10 missions would add entirely new lore or reintroduce old lore that had not been shown throughout the Champaign. As for The second the last mission, it would task you with killing 100 Vex in the row without killing any other race. Which would been difficult for anyone or at least take a hell of a long time. The final mission would be however the most fun and difficult. The final mission in the Vex archive would task the player with completing the Pyramidion Strike on Heroic (or as its known now, Prestige) with a recommend power level of 240 and would contain new dialogue regarding how the Vex have recreated the Genesis Mind and more importantly would contain entirely new gameplay features. Like for example, during the final damage phase of the strike, you could step on one of the three plates to gain a damage buff known as "Times Vengeance" for all my D1 veteran, this was a buff given on the raid of the first destiny 1 raid. After completing this final mission, you would be task with talking to Ikora who would then send you to seek out Banshee-44 for he has a gift for completing the mission. You then find out that Banshee-44 has created or rather recreated a weapon by studying the archives who've added to the tower. The "gift" in question would be The Vex Mythoglass, another nod to my D1 vets. For those unaware, the Mythoglass was a Liner Fusion rifle with no charge time and did more damage to the Vex archetype. I think the idea of such a powerful exotic would surely inspire players to complete these mission, especially if the lore isn't enough. [spoiler]TLDR - new section in character screen called archive. The archive would give you weekly missions you'd have to complete. The missions themselves would be harder versions of patrol missions. After each mission you'd get a lore tab you could read in you wanted. The final mission would be to complete a strike related to the archive mission you've selected - vex = Pyramidion strike but with higher light level. After completing these missions you'd be rewarded with a d1 exotic or at the very least a whole new exotic. [/spoiler] Of the 12 lore missions that would be given, obviously each race/enemy faction would be given their own Archive so I'm asking you - of each of the enemy faction what do you think would be decent ideas for their archive missions and more importantly what exotics would you get for completing them. It isn't just the enemy factions , what other parts of the lore would you like to be added into into the archive and how would players complete them. Tell me in the comments.
