I'm assuming you guys are looking for a way to not allow the kicking emote to actually move backwards when up against a wall and applying said mechanic to all maps, but why couldn't you just simply ban the emote instead of postponing trials for 2 weeks?
You guys obviously know how to lock us out of changing our loadouts according to the mechanic applied to trials and the prestige nightfall. Why couldn't you simply apply that effect to that specific emote at all times for a period of two weeks?

Yea this game sucks
-
we had a discussion about this last night in my clan - Put a big notice up at the beginning of every match. IF YOU ARE REPORTED USING THE EMOTE WALL GLITCH AND IT IS FOUND TO BE CORRECT BASED ON DATA OR VIDEO EVIDENCE YOU WILL BE RESTRICTED FROM THIS ACTIVITY FOR 2 MONTHS - REGARDS BUNGLEFUK. pretty sure that would stop 90% of it
-
If you don't know why it would take two weeks then you don't know how programming works . It is not about simply banning it. first thing is you can't just go around and take it off everybody that ever got it would take even longer, also if they got it from say a micro transaction then per a service level agreement they would have to refund them . the best way is they have two go and write a code then implemented in every map in PVP . Then they have to test it works, while that they probably have other things that they are taking care of in the game. if people weren't such cheats they wouldn't have to do it.

Edited by Celoxamortis: 10/20/2017 5:16:16 PMIt boggles the mind these are the same people who were able to temporarily "disable" the Hunter Shadowshot Quiver ability a year ago when people discovered the near-infinite shadow arrow glitch (they patched it to function like a normal tether until the fix was ready). Fast forward a year and a month and they can't simply disable emotes entirely from a game mode? It's a simple user input, should be easily patched to be disregarded. If trials, d-pad does nothing. Reductionist, yes, but you get the idea. If they could temporarily patch a fundamental class ability back in D1, it should be no problem to patch the game to simply ignore d-pad emote triggers while in a specific activity. That way they're not "taking away" the emote from people who bought it or found it, just preventing ANY emotes from being used in Trials until the patch is deployed to fix whatever issue there is. Instead, they're opting to take away an entire PVP game mode we ALL paid for (even if we don't use it)... Alrighty then. Unless, of course - and I'm going to put Cayde's Spinfoil Hat on here - there's a bigger issue at play besides JUST emotes and they don't want to say it publicly.

Edited by The Oracle: 10/21/2017 10:01:45 PMThink of destiny 2 as a system of wires. Each wire connects to a systems which connects to more wires which connects to a larger system. By removing one wire you won’t know what effects it could have on the wider system. As strange as it sounds you could also use biology as an example. When coding for a amino acid if a deletion mutation occurs then the base pairing isn’t complementary meaning the amino acid won’t form. This would cause changes in the primary and tertiary structure of the protein causing improper functioning or no functioning at all. That’s why bungie chose to keep trials off because if they went into the games coding to delete some stuff they don’t know what the end result might be
-
Too simple
-
Its a paid emote. The legal ramifications of cutting off a paid emote vs a mode thats not guaranteed as per the EULA is easy math
-
You clearly don't remember the Quiver glitch from TTK...
-
Tuning the Lockout Function they have is their “holy grail”. Right now they are using it backwards. IMO I imagine the fun D2 could be if they had some form of partition between PvE and PvP.
-
Cancelling trials was the correct decision. 👍
-
I'm guessing because people paid for the emote and refunds who have to be sorted out.
-
D-pad should be disable anyway for corner peeking reasons anyway
-
You don’t “ban” an emote They could gave simply made it not able to be selected as an equip able emote.
-
I'm curious how clipping into a wall gives you an advantage in Trials? Can you still shot people or is it just to hide?
-
They could've probably also just taken out all emote usuage functions in trials until they fixed that wall glitch
-
Are you insane? There are people who got that emote as a drop from silver bought engrams. They only remove things that are in the base game that everyone paid for.
-
Promote this guy! He fixed the problem with this weeks Trials in 1 sentence!
-
Because it's not about emotes. It's about the pc launch. Emotes are the distraction. They did the same thing for consoles, waited 2 weeks. I don't know how nobody else sees thru that bs TWAB post.
-
Because this is the least of their problems. Their lazy sequel is killing their franchise.
-
It’s complex because..wait for it... PC launch >
-
I think it's fairly obvious by now, that simply removing the emote wouldn't solve the issue. It's far more complex an issue than it appears, otherwise the emote-removal would have been done days ago, simliarly to how they handled the KEK gauntlets.
-
Because there's a difference between preventing you from accessing your entire inventory, and stopping you from equipping a specific item.
-
They don't want to deal with people that will request refunds for real world cash that may or may not have been spent to acquire the emote.
-
That emote COULD have been bought with actual money. That means bungie wants to keep THOSE people happy- not just the people who play the game.
-
Chill out they are all on vacation! Cozmo is struggling to hold the gate and I see an excellent opportunity to storm in.
-
They care more about micro transactions than they do the game
