Where the hell were all you d1 lovers when d1 was actually out? All I ever saw on these forums from the day I first started a bnet account until d2 launched, was complaining about how shitty d1 was. Grass is always greener I guess

  • Enjoying D1. Difference between those complaints and the D2 complaints were that D1's were just minor balance complaints and such- D2 has major game play flaws popping up all over the place.

We're you here when ttk dropped? And when infusion system changed in April of 2016?

  • Then you saw all the major complaint posts. Most people dropped those compaints after like 6 months, not because they were better, but because it was tiring to keep saying the same thing every day for years. Some people, like lethal viper, kept those complaint posts going and it drove them nuts and turned them to trolls.

  • No haha I actually didnt come on these forums til late Year 2ish. But yea no doubt there were some problems with vanilla D1 that were fixed with later updates.

  • A lot of y1 players would say y2 and beyond killed what destiny should be. Nothing was fixed, everything got easier and worse. A lot of people think 3ocs and the easier infusion and leveling system is what killed the special part of destiny on top of all the nerfs. Those aspects only got worse. I remember when max was 320, and it was extremely rare to find someone in the tower max level. I used to go, damn this guy is 319, that's crazy. Raid was required for max light, yet by y2 and y3 most players hadn't even attempted any raids, and many were max light. Bad pvp balances had destroyed the weapons and perks over time. Remember 2 use shadestep? Remember op sunsinger? Or original op sunbreaker? Even speedy y1 blade dancer? Those never got better. I think the main point is.....when it comes to complaining about d1 and d2....the list is much bigger for d1, even though it has 3 years of "solutions". Y1 they gave a tiny unbalanced grindfest that was impossible to reach any kind of completion, which made the endgame, extremely tedious(that's the only word for it). But people could play 5 hours a day and still not get max level. Still not get an exotic that was op. Ghallajorn. I know people who never got it and played 1000+ hours y1. That's terrible in my opinion, but alot of people loved that for whatever reason. This community has been torn from the start on what this should be. It will never please this community. It never will. It will never make the majority happy. It is an impossible task without literally making a brand new game. And even at that ppint... A large group will hate the loss of alo t of the original destiny stuff, and not buy the new game and complain in these forums till they die

  • For me, the best periods of Destiny were House of Wolves Era and then April Update to midway through Year 3. Personally I never cared too much about balance, even as a person who mained pvp and was top 5% in all playlists. So the unbalance issues of D1 never really bothered me til late Year 3 when they started taking fun stuff out of the game like special ammo. I also personally loved the harsh grind in PvE and how they made good gear so rare (I didnt get a gjallarhorn til Xur sold them- which for me was about 700 hours in). You are correct in saying that it is impossible to make everyone happy in this game, but I know they can do better than what D2 is right now. In the past we've had better progression systems, we've had better loot systems, we've had more fun pvp experiences, we've had more customization, etc the list goes on. There are things that are objectively wrong with D2, and I think that the vast majority will also agree that D2 lacks the fun factor in general that D1 had. D1 was never not fun...

  • D1 is/was certainly not perfect, and there was things to bitch about (PVP mostly). But at least D1 was fun, and remained fun for 3 years, despite it's flaws.

I didnt EXPECT Bungie to re-make it into MY vision. The sheer narcissism of these "Im done" losers is laughable. How important do you think you are? Grow up

  • You referred to yourself 5 times in your first sentence, yet you call others Narcissists? LMAO... My reply didn't mention anything about being done, or my importance. I merely mentioned my observations. You can be salty and call people "Losers" if you believe that makes you someone who doesn't have to grow up. LOL

  • All you saw was toxicity because that's what got the most attention. All the positive posts got put on the back burner and flew to the bottom. I never saw a single positive thing on trending, but would always see a few good things in latest

  • I dn man. I've always used latest. Trending occasionally. I've read them everyday for over 2 years on my smoke breaks. So much, I took some time to go into off topic. In that time I've never once seen a post created to praise any part of destiny out side of an individual weapon or armor piece, and half the comments would be saying it sucks or it's meta garbage and git gud. Every single aspect, every single aspect of d1 was complained about multiple times with contradictory opinions on the subject. People were angry sparrow racing was included, not even required, included. I read people saying they lost so many good pieces of d1, and I agree, but I'm looking at it from my personal opinions. If I was told to make a game this community would love, with all my knowledge about what I've read, the only direction I would know to go in, for any aspect of where the game should head and what should be included......pve and PvP should be totally seperate. That's the only thing I've seen a huge majority agree upon. Most people never even raided in d1, yet you have a lot of players who played them hundreds of times, and was the most important piece. Talk about opposites. How do I make a game where the hardest part of it gives a huge incentive to the hardcores, while not making casuals resentful. I have no idea. This community all wants different games. That's the problem. You could split d1 into 5 different games, which all focus on different aspects, and the community would probably be evenly divided on their choice.
