How do you pronounce Jorge's name?

I was under the impression that most people pronounce the name Jorge as hor-hay, but in the Spike TV preview video, Carter pronounces it like the name George. So which is it?

 • "Spartans never die Jorge, they're just missing in action" im pretty sure in the trailer carter pronounces it as "George" and not "horhey" or whatever the mexican way is of saying it

 • I believe it's 'George' as said, but if I had to take a guess off the beaten path, I'd say 'Gyorg.' [Edited on 08.09.2010 6:59 AM PDT]

 • The pronunciation "Hor-Hay" may seem common to a lot of you, but it's nearly unheard of in the UK. Anyone see *cringe* American Idol where Simon Cowell didn't have a clue how to pronounce a Jorje (or Jorge) The spelling does make it appear it should be pronounced Hor-Hey, but Carter calls him George. That's it. If it were Hor-hay, then Carter would have called him it. It is George.

 • At the moment I say it as Hor-Hay, as in Jorge Garcia (Hurley from Lost). But if it is pronounced George in the game then I'll say that.

 •
Posted by: THE RUSSIAN Snp
Posted by: Kaf1ve I just pronounce it or-hay. Because that makes sense.
Because his British-Hungarian descent merits Spanish origin, right?
Right.

 • For reference: Jorge The Spanish pronunciation is most definitely closer to a 'hor hey' than 'george.' Either would be acceptable. Also, given the fact that its 500 years in the future, its not surprising to see a man with a apparently north/eastern european descendancy with a hispanic name. I hold no illusions that one of my descendants may be called Jaafar.
