I dont care if anyone protests. That is what gets attention to a matter that needs addressed. With that being said, they need to do it off the field. They are employees and paid "entertainers". I watch sports to get away from political bull shit. Leave your views at the door.
There is a reason why nfl viewership is down and espn viewership is down. Nobody wants to hear politics mixed in with their sports. If it wasnt for college football mainly airing on espn, i wouldn't watch it.
Only teams who get my money now are the Georgia Bulldogs and Nashville Predators. I

The NFL is highly political already. Give me a break. The -blam!-ing halftime show is brought to you by the US Military and games start with -blam!-ing war machines flying over the stadium followed by some white country star that sings "What if God was a troop?" Let's be real here. You just don't want to hear about the kind of politics that make you uncomfortable.
-
I don't give a damn if they protest. Do it off the field. When i go to game, i dont want to see it. I watch sports to escape political bull shit. Simple as that.
-
No. The entire purpose of protests are to disrupt. They want you to see it. You have to deal with it. Not everyone gets to just "escape political bullshit" like you do. Many people have to live with it.
-
The entire protest was to "show up trump". Kaepernick wears socks with pigs in police uniforms and donates money to a convicted cop killer fund. But its whatever. Oppression right. My cousins husband grew up in a bad suburb of atl, made it thru constant murders, went to med school and is a residency in Tampa currently. He never once bitched about "the man" oppressing him. But oh well, you are entitled to your opinion as i am mine. Have a good weekend.
That is what gets attention to a matter that needs addressed. With that being said, they need to do it off the field
Doing it on the field is what gets the attention. Duh.

Well then, they can watch as the industry collapses because of bringing up political bull crap in something that should never have been politicized.
Well then, they can watch as the industry collapses because of bringing up political bull crap in something that should never have been politicized.
>Not wanting political stuff in sporting events >National anthem before every game Pick one. I wonder what you would have said to Jackie Robinson playing baseball with white men.
-
So the national anthem is political? Supporting the country that you live in is political? Honoring those who gave their lives is political?
-
The United States military paying millions of dollars to the NFL to market themselves and their wars definitely constitutes political. Whether you think it's right or wrong, agree with the protests or not, this idea that the NFL is divorced from politics is laughable.
-
What makes sitting during the national anthem political but standing not?
-
So the national anthem is political? Supporting the country that you live in is political? Honoring those who gave their lives is political?
Yes, it is.
-
Gosh you people are offended by everything aren’t you.
-
>when you get offended and tell the other guy he's offended
-
I’m not offended. Nice try tho.
-
You sure are acting more offended than Max is.
-
Well I’m not offended. Those people can protest all they want but I simply think they should do it outside of football. I don’t want politics in sports, I don’t see what is so hard to grasp about that.
-
Gosh you people are offended by everything aren’t you.
...Nothing in my post is about offense. I'm simply stating that playing the national anthem before games is a political gesture.

Question, do you consider yourself a patriot and do you love America?
-
Question, do you consider yourself a patriot and do you love America?
Yes and yes. It's important to understand the difference between patriotism and nationalism. Nationalism is thinking your country is the best no matter what. Patriotism is wanting the best for your country and trying to fix its flaws and make it better for all people.
-
My gosh I would think the national anthem is patriotic, apparently now it is “nationalist.” I see it as a form of patriotism, I don’t recall the national anthem saying that we are the best nation ever. All it is is saying that you support this nation, regardless of what you think of it.

It’s the national anthem, for that nation. It doesn’t say “nationalist anthem.”

And the owners disagree.
