The problem is the time to kill. It's too high. Having this high of a ttk means that to kill effectively you should be teamshotting. In order to team shot effectively, people group up very close and hold an advantageous position. Normal counters to such strategy would include area of effect damage such as grenades, or flanking to try and isolate and enemy. However, grenades have been neutered in both effectiveness and quantity rendering most of them useless, did you land a clutch grenade on a group of three people? Too bad it only does forty damage and years of experience that tell you push after landing what should be such an effective move result in you doing forty damage to three people and getting teamshot. Did you pull off a great sneaky flank and you have an open shot? Too bad, the time to kill is so high that even if you manage to kill one person the rest of the team will be alerted to your presence and teamshot you before you can make an escape. Maybe it would work if you had a sniper rifle but too bad xx420slayer picked up the power ammo and got teamshot trying to run in and melee a group of four with a sword. Hey did you manage to win a rare 1v1 engagement? Lol Jk it wasn't a 1v1 his teammate just spawned behind you and killed you while you were still weak. Destiny two has removed most of your individual impact on your team and big plays, big moments and personal satisfaction in favor of well. Teamshotting because the time to kill is too high for anything else to be effective [b]Consistently[/b] Can you do well? Absolutely. Can you get a thirty kill game? Absolutely. Is it fun? Well that's the question isn't it. I played destiny one for three years and for all of my misgivings and criticisms at least I could say I had fun and I felt like my playstyle mattered. If you like to camp corridors and teamshot noobs with scouts then you will be happy and love it! If you want to play any other way? Too bad. Git gud L2 team scout. The fact that auto rifles also effectively render hand canons and pulse rifles second teir is not great either. But that is another matter entirely.
