Universal healthcare will come to America eventually. People are already starting to shift. They're starting to wake up to the fact that the insurance companies are screwing us all over. Every other modern nation had universal healthcare. It's just that in this country we have to put up with corporate donors and stupid Republican politicians.
It's only a matter of time.

Edited by Vox Mortuis: 9/23/2017 7:01:46 PMSure, that and we don't like to be taxed into poverty. Not to mention the healthcare run by the government already (veteran's healthcare) is by far the worst in the country. The government needs to get out of the healthcare/health insurance business.
-
I don't know anything about this subject but aren't the government only involved to make sure big insurance companies don't take advantage of people?
-
Edited by Vox Mortuis: 9/24/2017 12:35:56 AMNo, the government mandated health insurance, this means insurance companies are required to insure people who are already sick, but also means people are required to buy health insurance, the result is healthy people pay more for something they don't need, quality of all insurance policies go down, while prices go up because people are forced to buy. In other words, under the aca, insurance companies can take more advantage of people because people can't opt out of having insurance without paying a huge fine to the government. As far as veterans healthcare, the government takes care of all of it, the result is horrendous service, and in many cases incompetent providers.
-
It's terrible because the government doesn't want to fund it (mainly Reps.). They'd rather waste billions on missiles and jets instead of actually keeping our own people alive.
-
No, it's terrible because the government is horribly inefficient and incompetent. That being said, if you really believe that's the case, why would you willingly give them control over everyone's healthcare?
-
And just like with unions a private market will develop and prosper while the public market will languish and collapse. There is not a single thing that is done better in the public market. Not one.
-
Lol, you think the insurance companies are screwing us over......cute!
-
If you don't see that insurance companies own politicians are are purposely screwing over the American people, then I pity you.
-
Well I have no pity for you since you can't see how overinflated the cost of healthcare is. And it's not because of the insurance companies. They aren't the ones billing themselves exorbitant amounts of money for care.
-
Yes they are. . .people pay so much because of insurance. How do you not see this?
-
I bet you missed me ;-*

Because I'm not blind and gullible like my constituents are... https://hub.jhu.edu/2016/09/08/hospital-markups-price-gouging/ https://www.healthline.com/health-news/patients-may-face-big-bill-markup#3 http://truecostofhealthcare.org/hospitalization/ http://www.ajc.com/business/huge-hospital-markups-burden-patients/Z4oxCww3bpQ96Pkvuwg6eL/ A man charged 4 times more than what the hospital bills to Medicaid.

America has one of the least inefficient healthcare systems... Cute!
America has one of the least inefficient healthcare systems... Cute!
Lol, wut? So it's one of the most efficient healthcare systems?
-
Because paying a shit ton of money to get something easily treated done wrong is efficient. Quick question: are you American?
-
Yes. Quick question: do you not see the error with your original statement?
-
Edited by The Third Man 1: 9/23/2017 5:56:30 PMYeh I do. I meant most inefficient. Damnit
-
I agree that it is inefficient. But it isn't solely because of insurance companies. The cost of healthcare is atrocious and unnecessarily high
-
Most of it will be down to then though
-
It's up to the hospitals on what they bill the insurance companies for. That's where the problem starts.
-
God damn it. Im just gonna retreat out of this one. Sucks when im trying to argue about another countries affairs.
