I am not a fan of the whole being branded anyway, so things like vanguard and the factions are unappealing. Seriously I don't like looking like I am sponsored, leave that to NASCAR and all that. I understand their love for graphic art and this games embracing of it, and that being the point of factions, but I really don't like it.
I wish they would focus more on armor with ornaments that are obtained by achieving certain milestones while wearing/using it or something. That way you can further see what people went through to look the way they do, as they mentioned way back when.
Like killing x amount of hive whatever puts some sort of hive crap on it and it represents that milestone appropriately. Same goes for weapons, and if it is faction armor maybe extrapolate it from its base look to be more unique. You have to earn that look if you want it.

Weird that they dropped armor ornaments from RoI but brought back the chroma system as shaders
-
Yeah not even chroma is around anymore, not that I cared for it. It always looked kinda bad to me anyway. I don't mind the shader system, but the way it's implemented to fuel the lootbox goldrush is pretty bad.
-
I mean the shaders are chroma. One time use colors that cost glimmer to apply and delete when changed out. Exactly like chroma.
-
Yeah I see what you mean, but chroma was introduced as light or in other words separate from shaders. So it is hard for me to call shaders that. The shader system definitely took heavy inspiration from it though.

Hey you get new armor designs in iron banner etc. You can't expect bungle to put in too much effort.
-
FWC is the worst with the looking sponsored thing...
-
Yeah they are comically showy to me lol.

I like the idea of ornaments being tied to milestones

Yes I -blam!-ing hate those god damn logos
-
100% agree. I hate looking like a billboard and logos on gear. Tacky tacky
-
Yeah I get the whole point of the factions wanting to advertise themselves, but the logo being so emphasized ruins the rest of the style they have. That style is the great part that works, and I wish they would focus more on that. Rather than putting a giant logo on the chest piece or what have you.

such a good idea
