What was Bungie thinking

  • I have the answer: Bungie really doesn't seem to think about how many of their design choices would go over with the community. They did questionably moves that they never fixed until at least a year or two later in some cases and I guarantee that it'll be the same in D2. They never see problems with their games until almost the entire community is beginning to quit the game. Whether they just have too much pride or not is another question entirely but, either way, it's unacceptable in my eyes and ironically, there are a lot of things that are problems in D2 that never were a problem in D1 (i.e. infusion). I don't get it but, they have to fix it ASAP.

I don't understand why they're creating problems from things that worked perfectly fine in D1. Cosmetic items should be unlimited use once you get it. Shouldn't have to rely on RNG to get ships/sparrows/shaders after you've gotten it once. Also, glimmer to put those one-time-use shaders on items is just irritating. Bad enough it's using up the item, but you're charging me glimmer, that I could be using on mods, to apply them? So many unnecessary requirements that seem to have been added just to make the experience less player friendly.

  • There were many things that were just fine in D1. Another example of something that was fine in D1 but, they broke in D2 was infusion. Putting a pulse rifle into a hand cannon in D1 didn't make any logical or realistic sense but, at least it wasn't thoroughly complicated. Now they made it more realistic but, it's too complicated because now you have to not only rely on RNG not to screw you, you have to hope that the hand cannon you get now, for example, is a higher base power than your current one. Which leads to the mod system being a bit poorly executed but, that's a whole other can of worms that I do not care enough about to be thrown into an argument over. Also, the fact that one-time shaders are now a thing and you can't reacquired exotic ships/sparrows just makes D2 less player friendly. In short, it becomes almost not worth playing a lot of the time in my opinion now.
