Powerful gear and exotic engrams dropping lower than my power level
Ok I get that blues and legendaries are supposed to drop lower than your power level after a certain point. But my understanding was that "powerful gear" rewards for completing milestones and exotic engrams were supposed to drop a bit higher than my current power level. I am a 287 warlock and powerful gear rewards are still only at 277. I have a second character, but am using my original character now. Does anybody know whether deleting my second character will fix this? Is it even a bug or is it a deliberate move by Bungie to eradicate the use of alternate characters to level up?

I'm having the same problem, my lowest character is 288 and my "powerful gear" is dropping at 279, the same level as my blues. Bungie needs to fix this issue ASAP

Same exact issue here, stuck at 270 light with neither exotics or powerful engrams dropping past 260ish and have no power mods equipped on any gear and only have one of each class.

I am having the same problem with my hunter. I Started the game at launch with a hunter got him to 290ish and then rolled another, I then read about the 2 of the same class not working so after reaching 20 I deleted the 2nd hunter I then found any powerful engrams I decrypted on the 1st hunter I created he is now 302 were only decrypting at 10 lvls below (292). same as blues and purples. I decided to delete the original hunter so that I would have no hunters on the account and start another one from scratch this I did yesterday and finished him off today, did the flashpoint to get the powerful engram and the problem still persists. No idea what else I can try

6 RepliesI only have the one character and ive been stuck at 273 for nearly two weeks now because everything that drops is lower all.my blues drop at 264 and all my ledgendaries drop 265 its rrally starting to get annoying

I just realized myself earlier tonight that it may be that I had legendary mods with some of my gear @283 with the mods equipped & 278 without. Which means that I need to infuse some of the 279 soft capped blue/purple gear into those items in order to get the best possible power level out of my luminous engrams. However, the luminous engrams should still be higher drops than 279. Which is what is currently dropping for my rare & legendary engrams. There's a problem that needs to be fixed. I do have 2 Titans in an attempt to power level one of them but if that's the issue it shouldn't be like that. Basically last week was a complete bust for me. Got screwed out of being close to 300 power level by now.

Bungie finally got a nerf right for once.

1 ReplyThe issue seems to have somewhat rectified itself now for me. I have gone back to my original character (without deleting the second one) and my most recent luminous engrams have dropped about the same as my current power level. Meaning that with mods I am now 290

Maybe you guys already know this, but the "powerful engrams" aka luminous engrams, are the only engram in the game that should only be collected with your highest light stuff equipped. Apart from that, the only way I was able to get past the wall was to make duplicate class alts. I main hunter and just hit 305 with engrams dropping at 294. Legendary mods help ALOT in breaking the wall btw

I am experiencing the same issues. I don't have any +5 mods on my gear and i have 3 different classes (no duplicate classes). My Warlock is now stuck at 272.

2 RepliesOn my main mine dropped at 288, but both alts are stuck at 277, the same as other engrams, even though my equiped is 281. Already wasted 4 powerful engrams before I noticed

That’s because you have the same character more than once. Delete your duplicate characters.

1 ReplyI deleted my second character and it didn't fix anything. I'm 277 and everything that drops is 267.
