I'm done

I'm done I can't play this anymore after hours of grinding I've had enough of getting underpowered loot for my character so I can't progress. I've done everything my friends have done yet still can't seem to keep up in level. And you want me to keep playing?

  • Same. Only milestones give you something to progress on. I don't do PvP, so Crucible and Trials are out. I am too low light to do raid My Clan rewards are now coming in at 10 I do the Nightfalls Flashpoint weekly is easy. There. 2 things to do a week to get my light up. Can't buy legendary mods cuz I'm not 280 yet.

    • I knew this game would be dead within a month. Not saying I won't keep playing the pvp side of it, but it's just not good atm. Raid sucks, rewards suck, 4v4 pvp sucks, no options of what game mode to play sucks, new shader system sucks, new infusion system sucks, timed nightfall sucks, and strikes have absolutely no point to doing them. Yeah it'll go from 1.2 mil players to around 50,000 very very quickly. This was bungies last chance with lots of folks. I don't see a destiny 3.

i can help you out - if you wish. Semper fi! Edit: Sorry I'm being lazy this reply is not well-structured or organized, but I hope you find it useful. If you have not created another character, start one - do not complete the entire story at all. just let it ride out, and just do public events and everything else the game will allow you to do! I stopped at IO and did not go there on my second character (because I wanted access to at least several planets for farming purposes). At any rate, do not transfer gear over, do not mod gear on your 2nd character, just play and keep changing the weapons and armor when you get higher-powered ones (and yes, yes you will, the game will keep taking the average of your gear sets, and drops you gear within that range about +/- 5 up or down). Now for my 2nd, I did still go check in with the vendors on each planet and turned in a few things to elevate the boost in power gear if I felt that drops have stalled me out, but not in relation to the issue you are having at all - what am saying here is not similar to the aspects of the issues you are facing is what I mean). Keep doing this till you hit about 280. Save all your legendaries or exotics, save all your planet tokens, and save all your glimmer - just keep working that 2nd character. Once you get to 280, complete the story, decrypt some engrams, not all, then work on doing the actual blue-crown icon quests on each planet, to get your mida, etc...now they will all decrypt past 290 or more. Once you have some affairs in order, dismantle (always with caution) lower power gear legendary gear. Do this after you open your current gear's mod slot for each item to ensure you have legendary mods instead of blue ones (if not, go trade in mods since you are now PL 280). After you input the mods, check each item to ensure they are or are not "infusable", if they cannot be infused to raise power levels on gear - then dismantle them. Of course, during this entire process, you checking out which legendary gear is working out best for you, for your play-style and in prep for the raid or whatever you please to do. This being said, this will most definitely prolong the game-play process, but if you are like me and in no rush to raid or go trials, you will enjoy this approach on at least once character, the worker-bee character I call it. By the time you start your 3rd character, you'd be a master at the process. Now once you play the story, you will have all that power level gear ready for you upon activity completion, that is why it is necessary to get to 280 and then finish the story because now you have all that stuff to complete and get HIGHER POWER LEVEL gear than before. As for those materials and resources you are stacking in your inventory, consider cashing them in AFTER you've completed the story on your 2nd, which means you are past PL 280 anyway). Do those after you've done all the milestones at that point, because you want those power level items to help you give you that boost. Remember to dismantle things too low and "un-infusable". You are trying to achieve your "core" power-level baseline here. From there, when you turn in resources and materials (always with caution, not too fast, don't spam that button lol),observe how fast your power level will go up - now it will peak during the week and will reset the following week. Some people are deleting the same character over and over and over and redoing everything - and I don't understand how they enjoy that - this approach is "longer" but is a playable version, legit, and promotes/highlights the grinding aspect necessary to achieve legedary stats lol) Tip, do not stash lower light level gear on your characters or inventory )for now) unless you absolutely must - you dont want your overall character base strength to be low. Therefore what I personally did, was dismantle all exotics at lower levels that I can always get back from my collections section in the vault (at lower light of course). I only kept one exotic type per character once I started decrypting them at higher power, till then I sucked it up. The game always dropped enough blue scout rifles and other items necessary to complete planet quests such as the Mida in the EDZ. So don't fret those for now. :)

I've seen nothing but complaints. Most people want everything handed to them, yes its rng/grind but thats part of the whole reason you play, well i do anyway. Stop wasting time posting and acting like a spoilt adult/kid and do the work.

          • I was stuck and pissed off the whole last week also. Everything dropped 265 for the longest time, it was frustrating. So just two days ago I got bored and went out to Nessus and found all the Regional chest, the gold ones, and the lost sector caves. To my surprise the light level drops became slightly higher, it was slow but it was getting higher. I don't know if it has to do with those things but like I said, for me to get to 279 from 265 in two days, I had to go play the game as intended and of course some lucky drops with it. Give that a shot on Titan this week if you get stuck again. But I doubt you will , once you hit 280 you can put those purple mods and jump a lot of light levels. I'm no expert but this was how I overcome 265. I did a lot of heroic public events also I think I got two or three exotic engrams from them, one of them I failed a HPE and I still got an exotic engram.

                • Do milestones, then bring up another character. Once you have all three characters at light cap, stop playing every week after milestones. Once they see the numbers start to dwindle at the end of every week they'll start adding stuff to do.

                  • Once you hit 260 power level you won't get any upgrades from normal activities like strikes, patrols, or faction packages. Above 260 the only way to get higher power level gear then what you have equipped is by doing your weekly milestones or doing end-game activities, i.e. nightfall, raid, or trials.

                  • trials drops tokens for each win and you can continue to win. Character progression never stops on the weekends and monday. Do the nightfall. 240+ can do it. Guided games? Make some friends and play strikes together. Clans give free luminous engrams, about 6 of them each week.

                      • Everyone has advice and they have already said they are doing the same as their friends. The game is bugged. I'm 277 and every drop is 267. Do weekly tasks is not going to make much difference until I've been doing them for a year.

I think you're infusing incorrectly or something. I got my Warlock to Power level 288 in just 7 hours. Yes 7 hours. After transferring the highest power Weapons to my Warlock and doing Heroic public events for like 4 hours I got to level 20 quickly. I'm not even half way done with the story for my Warlock or even did any milestones for it. There must be something you're doing wrong. I don't even have any Armour mods on most of my Warlocks gear and I am power level 288.

                        • I felt like this in D1 at least a half-dozen times... but the game still lasted 3 years for me. I'm stuck at 285 atm, but I know that after weekly reset I'll have opportunities to level up further with clan tasks, milestones, etc. If I get stuck again then I'll just go and play one of the other dozen games I own until Faction Wars, or Iron Banner, etc. There's so many posts on here complaining about not reaching max level already. The game came out 2 weeks ago. If those same people had reached 305 by now they'd be complaining that the game's too short/easy/not enough content, etc. Let's give it a month at least, eh?

Do your weekly luminous engram tasks asap and turn them all in. Once you have run out of these easy levelling tasks to do you can either: 1. Spend days doing public events and go up a couple of power levels. or 2. Put all your gear in the vault, delete your character by recreating the same class of character (in the same slot), put on a booster and kill in the EDZ till you are level 20 (about 4 hours), then put the old high level gear on again. Now you are back to where you were and the the story exotics and the end game quests will all be massively bumping your power level up, plus you have another set of luminous engrams to collect in the same week. Plus, you an get all the exotic quests to drop twice if you just equip the legendary of that quest on your character. That's some easy levelling.

                          • Level 20: unlock end game content like Strikes and Mile Stones. 240 Light: you can fight in the Night Fall. 270-290: you can fight in the Raid. 300: you can do Hard mode Night Fall. Look for opportunities to get Keys in the Raid. Also to your weekly mile stones. These give you higher level gear frequently. Good luck!
