Destiny 2 Supports DLC II Leak?
*A Wild Gringo has appeared*
So huge Destiny 2 story spoilers ahead. Also potential spoilers for the first 2 DLC. Be warned. Alright so a while back before Destiny 2 came out a possible leak of the second DLC, supposedly called "The Tyrant's Crypt". I made a post describing the leak here.. Many, rightfully, simply brushed this aside as nonsense because it was very specific and the story details seemed too outlandish. It was as follows
With the Speaker's heresy revealed and the threat of a Second Faction War looming over the few surviving Humans, Lord Saladin has found a way to prevent the coming of a second Dark Age, but it has a price. Go to the Manhattan Nuclear Zone, find the Warmind Caedmon, and steal from him the truth about what really caused the Collapse.
. I believe that what happened in Destiny 2's story may come to show that this is actually true, since it may have foretold the story of D2.
With the Speaker's hearsay revealed
This now seems quite plausible. The Speaker admitted to basically bullshitting his job, as he said "I speak for the Traveler, I never said it spoke to me." The lie that he never communed with the Traveler could upset a lot of people, finding out that your religion is false (or at least partially artificial) and all. It just so happens that Osiris, the guy from DLC I was the Speaker's protege and they had disagreements. Perhaps Osiris knew this and didn't want to lie to the people and that is why he left.
And the threat of a second Faction War
It seems unusual, after all the factions are still buddy buddy in the tower. However there is a "Faction Rally" coming in a few weeks. There is also the possibility that a new faction will rise to power in the turmoil following the Red War. Now would be a good time for the Concordat to come out of hiding (especially since their biggest gripe was the Speaker).
Lord Saladin
He's probably not dead but anything about him is kind of up in the air.
The truth about what really caused the collapse
This is a big one. Remember that heavy handed foreshadowing with the triangular ships at the end of D2 that foreshadowed a huge expansion or sequel based on the darkness. There is also the beginning of D2 which strongly hinted that those Darkness pyramid ships were the cause of the Collapse. This would be cool, finding out what they are right before they hit us, plus it would help narratively set up a credible threat. There are a couple of other circumstantial things like an expansion to Io, the smallest patrol in D2 or the Warmind of Io. What do you think? Am I grasping at straws or do I have a point?
