Destiny 2 Soundtrack
This was an amazing soundtrack. I bought it before I even heard it and I was not disappointed. Who else loves the music in Destiny and Destiny 2?
However, the song "Untold Legends" from Destiny 1's OST is in Destiny 2? I was so hyped to hear it because it was such a good song in the first one. I wish it was used during the Atheon battle. Would've fit really well there.

I have been playing Destiny 2 for the 1 or 1 and half months it has been out so far. I have to say, nothing compares to the song called Journey in my opinion. In the first Destiny, I liked Remembrance the most but Journey topped off Remembrance. Journey just gives you that epic feeling but at the same time puts you in misery. Overall, there are a ton of good Destiny 2 music and the soundtrack was one of the main things I was looking forward to and I was not disappointed.

6 RepliesI love the soundtrack but I noticed that there are a couple tracks from the game that weren't included. Specifically the track that plays during your first encounter with the taken on Io with Ikora. I love the audio for that level but can't find it anywhere. Anyone know which track I'm talking about?

I also have been enjoying Destiny 2's soundtrack, but there seems to be a few memorable ones missing from it! I notice the all-vocal version of "journey" is missing, as is the creepy forest music, and the music from the after-credits scene. Hopefully these may be offered here, or in the next OST.

The soundtrack for destiny 2 IMO was absolutely wonderful as the timing and articulation was perfect for many moments in the game. It would make the moment more intense when encountering the hive, or give you a sense of purpose or wonder as you travelled away from what felt like a second home. The symphonies and quartets they got to play the songs for this game were perfect in my opinion as I could here how they play their hearts out. As a person who plays music with orchestras and loves listening to game soundtracks, you learn to listen and be able to tell how much heart someone puts into playing; either it will sound dull and exactly how it should sound, or it will have a personal touch which will ring out to the audience. Overall I feel the department in charge of the music made outstanding choices and that I am happy to hear music as moving as some of my favorite pieces from back in the Halo days. However I will never forget Marty and his amazing work and hope he can make music how he wants it and not be stuck in the futuristic fantasy genre anymore. Please don't forget this is all my personal opinion and hope I didn't season anybody with some salt :D.

6 RepliesThe soundtrack playing while we journey out of the city without our light is the best theme in the entire series. I'd say it's as good as the halo soundtracks. And we all know how amazing those are.

5 RepliesI like the D1 soundtrack, but it all seemed so detached from the game. There were some really good songs, like Untold Legends, but they just didn't fit the game that well IMO. I think Bungie has gotten better at sculpting the score around the game as the years have gone on, and they've finally nailed it home with this score. I've loved every track I've listened to so far.

It is extremely good and I am so happy that they are still able to make beautiful music even without Marty (after all, Micheal's been with him for a while). There's just one issue that either Bungie can solve, or PC data-mining can; Not every track in the game is in the released OST. I LOVE the Inverted Spire boss theme. Brakion's theme is also pretty neat. The music during the Almighty's reveal (rip random system) is kickass. EVERY SINGLE VEX THEME IS BEAUTIFUL!! So... no matter what happens... I will never be truly satisfied until two things happen: The PC people data-mine the entire game in their usual attempt to find something interesting and I and someone who is better than me collect the music. OR Bungie adds a feature to mute the SFX but keep the music.

1 ReplyI love it too, but I can't help feel like there are tracks missing. There's a hive track and a vex track (inverted spire boss) that aren't there, and I'm pretty disappointed. I understand some minor tracks get left out in game soundtracks, but these are way too notable to be left out.

The original destiny soundtrack was amazing as were the soundtracks from the following expansions.....but the destiny 2 soundtrack blows them all completely out of the water. It's absolutely breathtaking and gave me chills so many times. I would go even so far as to say it outshines bungies own halo series soundtracks. There's always been amazing soundtracks in countless games that have made me consider buying but I never have. This soundtrack is the first one to move me so much as to buy it, and I will most certainly do it. Absolutely amazing.
