actually it's my understanding that the first mission(homecoming) is single player only. It would be nice if you could have a fireteam, but so far it seems it's not.
After that then yes.
also not sure about midnight release.

Ahhh gotcha, yea I wouldn't normally care about the midnight release stuff, but if the other two in my fireteam are going to be playing the story missions (after homecoming) for 3 hours before me, it may take a bit to catch up XD
