Is dumb. I don't use Twitter, I use this app you spent so much time making. Clan founders are having issues left and right. No responses at all on the help forum. Why bother having the help forum if we have to go to Twitter to see that you actually acknowledged there's an issue?

Edited by BNGHelp5: 8/26/2017 12:51:49 AMHello all, Thank you for this feedback. I've published a list of known issues that we're actively investigating here: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/230237915 I will be updating this list as additional issues are confirmed. I will also ensure that any issues or communications held through @BungieHelp are reflected to the #Help forum or appropriate Help Articles. We cannot currently project any time frames for issue resolutions, but we'll be sure to provide information when possible through the #Help forum, What's Up DOC entries of future This Week at Bungie news articles, and @BungieHelp. Cheers, -BNGHelp5

This has been talked about since forever. DJ and Cosmo said they would stop.... Just learn to expect nothing but broken promises and asking you to always open your wallet.

I, for one see a good reason for using Twitter instead of the forums (could ofc do both I guess) Most treads vanish in a matter of seconds. They get pushed to next page by posts like "D2 suck" "pvp suck" "2 primaries suck".... You get the idea ;) Only way you could keep track of posts, would be to keep your app/browser in the forum topic they would post issues as they are discovered
-
So make a twitter, it's not difficult.
-
This is the reason why I deleted the app on my phone and now I just access the forums via my browser.
-
It drives web traffic and hits on Bungies name. These are looked at by companies now as being a plus. Free advertising. Its what "social media" really is.
-
Agreed. Piss poor we have to find out news from outside sources instead of right here in Bungie's front yard. That's crap Bungie. Fix that shit.

Shrug* Your point is valid.
-
Agreed. I don't even have Twitter. I'm not 12 or a celebrity trying to reach 12 year olds

I don't have any issue with them using other sources of media to inform those who don't use this, the "official" bungie forums. The issue is they need to make sure they use the forums the most cause that's where most people will be, and it's the best way to send feedback. I'm sorry but twitter is god -blam!-ing awful for that when you have to send an essay of feedback chopped up into 20 pieces because twitter won't let you go over 150? 200 characters? Poor way to give feedback. Reddit is better about this but how many bungie members really use it? How soon would people get feedback? Because this forum is their "official" one it'd be best to use it first and foremost being how it's a direct link to them and the fans. There's so many game forums that are just like this where the devs neglect people and use twitter over their own forums, why have one in the first place then? They're only using twitter because most people won't even try sending chopped up essays to them like I would. It's easier to handle feedback they don't like with a block button.

Honestly, sometimes sites like twitter are just easier to post small updates on things. It's common among most game devs. Any game that actively gets updates, you'll usually find some of the devs most active on stuff there. Sure, there's something to be said about it all being on official forums, but sometimes someone will want to update on bits of things in a less professional, or at least brief, minimal, manner. Better left to a mix personal/work twitter. Anyways, no one's stopping you from making a twitter. Years back I did it mostly for the purpose of tracking game devs, specifically, in fact. Just like no one would stop you from using these forums if that was the best place for all info.

Been saying it for a few years, the reliance on twitter is unacceptable. D2 has to have some news feed feature similar to that of Warframe. It is so nice to be on the ship about to select a destination and notice something next to my character. Bungie, please work on your communication and testing. This update on the 23rd, available the 24th and full of issues still on the 25th, makes me worried about the future when actual problems arise in D2. We all know you can make quick fixes when needed, but that is only when they cost money as with the SRL record book.
-
This is a recurring complaint that never is addressed. Sometimes, we are told "We'll do a better of job of communicating to the forums." However, it never seems to really take hold. But... BUMP in the hope things change!
-
I dont see why they dont have a "devs" section to post updates on, where they can make posts and have no comments enabled. They way they can freely post updates without being harassed.
-
Twitter stinks. It's just for attention grabbers.
-
I agree. Using off forum apps to announce things is just plain dumb. Quit with the Twitter, Reddit, Facebook announcements and stick to THIS forum. Don't make the same mistake twice.
-
I don't care that much about clans, but Bungie tweeting and not posting on their forum has been head scratcher for 3 years. I don't use twitter and the only time I see a bungie tweet is when some nice person links it ON THE FORUM.
-
Edited by Kadmar: 8/25/2017 7:24:50 PMThey do that on purpose to increase the number of twitter subs. Well I don't have a Twitter account and I don't care about twitter.
-
They don't get it dude. If I were to design an app that I wanted my player base to install, I would probably have a way to send push notifications to them using that app. You know, but HEY what do I know. -Signed A Network Engineer, and very very very VERY amateur game developer.
-
I agree completely. Only reason I could see them using twitter is because, well, they broke the forums so bad.
-
Unfortunately this is the case with a lot of games I play. They are far more active on twitter. I downloaded twitter to follow all the games I play. I really feel the forum days are coming to an end.
-
Kinda like how lfg and lore wasnt in game lol
-
Does Help Forum help in any way? Agree the use of twitter for key pieces of info ruins one stop shop convenience. Regards Old gallp Clan ANZACS https://www.bungie.net/en/ClanV2/Chat?groupId=2074065

In the time it took you to post this, you could've made a twitter.
-
Edited by SmashvilleViking: 8/25/2017 8:06:55 PM1. Go to Google 2. Type in "Destiny Twitter" 3. Hit Enter 4. Click on link 5. Bookmark link 6. Profit You don't need a twitter to see their feed. It's just as quick as opening the app.
-
I would like them to update on both platforms. On twitter it's fast and easy for each developer to post something as soon as they notice without having to contact Deej, Cozmo or any other forum manager to create a thread, plus it´s easier to reach more people there. BUT I would also like them to put a thread on the forum acknowledging the issues so people have a more reliable and interactive discussion here.
