Why Efficiency is bad for D2.
Alright so KD and Efficiency have been a very big debate for a while and how it will work in D2. I personally think KD is better for any game like Destiny opposed to Efficiency.... There are gonna be those people that come in here and say "well overwatch has Efficiency why shouldn't a team shooter like D2 have it?" That's the issue, in overwatch they have Efficiency for the purpose of different roles. Healers, supports, tanks, does, etc. D2 doesn't have any of that unless you take abilities into account which still doesn't work due to the fact classes aren't built around those abilities. For example warlocks have healing rift, but that's about it for that perk as far as we've seen. Overall I just think KD in itself would be a better stat due to the fact it shows individual player skill opposed to you get a guy one hit but then Dragonslayer6969 comes and shoots him once and gets the same rewarded Efficiency. What I'm trying to say is that Efficiency isn't bad, but it just doesn't work for a game like destiny. I could also be extremely wrong due to the full game not being out, but this is just based off of what we've seen so far.

Nobody cares. Destiny is not a competitive game when exotics can be broken.

1 ReplyNeither stat is good for the game. Total points is perhaps the best method, depending on the game mode. Because winning the match is far more important than worrying about who was credited with the kill. Give me the teammate that wants to win and have fun.

2 RepliesI like the efficiency system. I had a bad KDR in D1 because I didn't put in the time and effort to improve as a player. But now I can boast 10+ K/D games to everyone without trying. I just hide down long sight lanes looking down my scope and run away after getting hit once like everyone else.

Look what you did to the sequel! Everything changed was all for the Crucible. Why should I or anyone else care about the Crucible in this game? It was made as a side game for when you were a little bored of doing PvE activities, not made as the main source of entertainment in this game. Treat the Crucible as it made to be: a side activity for players to play against each other when they aren't doing the main activities in PvE. If you want a full PvP experience from a game, go play something else. No game based heavily on PvE should be effected drastically for the purpose of PvP like this salty community has done. F*** STATS. F*** METAS. F*** THE OVER-COMPETITIVE PLAYERS IN THIS GAME. I don't hate Crucible entirely, I hate the people who think it's the main source of entertainment in a game like Destiny. It's not, it never should be, and it never will be. You already turned this community into a toxic place and made Destiny way worse than what it could have been.[/spoiler]
