Should Destiny be PVE or PVP Focused?...
Ok so in my honest opinion I feel destiny should primarily be focused on tailoring the game towards PVE players, [b]BUT[/b] still include PVP content, although it will be seen as a complete background play style or completely separate from the PVE side of the game [u](This would be my prefered option to split the two)[/u]... this way the constant Nerfs/Buffs do not effect the PVE crowds on a regular basis (Which seems to be way too common!) and also the way things are going I think the focus is being taken away from the PVE side of things, putting more effort into appeasing the PVP base.
So I want to put it out there to see what the community thinks, and let the poll show who are the larger player base PVE or PVP... & or what the community feels is the right way forward!
Also comment on your decision if an explanation is needed...

They have exhaustive stats available on how players actually played Destiny 1. That data is always going to be the thing they look at to help them make decisions about what kind of activities players actually choose to pursue, which doesn't always match up with what people say they want. You can see this all the time on the forum when people say they want one thing out of the game and yet their profile shows that they actually behave differently. Bungie has way more detailed information about how folks actually play than profiles show us. I'm sure they relied heavily on those stats to guide the choices they made about how much and what kind of content to create. They most likely chose a focus based on stats, business concerns, with direct player feedback a very distant third. Let's wait until the game is actually out and play it and [i]then[/i] we'll see where the focus is, and they'll see how we really choose to play with it.

1 ReplyIt [i]should[/i] be PvE focused, but it seems they are leaning more towards a PvP focused game like they turned the first game into. At the very least they should have separated the two game modes and actually learned from the mistakes of the first game when PvP nerfs ruin so many things in PvE.

1 ReplyMy first thought is PvE only but then I voted for a split PvE should not influence PvP and vice versa I am a PvE Guardian, sure I step into Crucible from time to time (mostly IB and never Trials) but I don't care about my stats...some games I go on killing sprees and others I'm lucky to have a kill but I don't care...it's just a way to finish a bounty PvP/PvE should be it's own thing with weapons and armor that reflect that

1 ReplyI feel they should totally split the two and make them their own. Have gear that is tailored toward pvp gear and gear that is more beneficial for pve. They could even follow the steps of game like WOW, and have tiers armor and weapons that you can get for doing pvp and raids. We'll see how everything flows in September. Until then I am still hopeful this game will be decent/good.
