"Vex milk waterfall"?? Why cant the ghost give me some lore about what radiolaria is instead of making stupid jokes about it looking like milk.
Edit.
Ghost's lines are terrible. I think the most ironic line we will ever hear in destiny 2 is when ghost tells failsafe she is depressing and useless. He is too.
Like this game is about adventure and growing to be a guardian again and getting stronger and ghost is always in the background complaining or talking about dumb small stuff. In the inverted strike, hes freaking out about going into the drills - like come on...who wrote that script. Thats such a turn off for players.
I really wish ghosts lines were more useful or helpful or at least encouraging and empowering. In halo, cortana was a strong, resourcful AI which gave such a boost to players. With her guidance, you felt empowered to fight.
Ghost just doesnt feel like a great companion for success. He's funny yess and cute at times, but his voice sounds like a 10 year old whining most of the game.
Personally I find the whole laughing in the face of death hilarious and uplifting. Destiny would be really dark and depressing if ghost was... useful. As it stands, Destiny has a serious lack of emotional substance and I think ghosts playful banter kind of sets the tone, which is we are guardians and we don't back down even if the odds are against us. If you want a knotty gritty story, I suggest you go play literally anything else but Destiny.

The lore all got retconned. There's nothing more to say than "Vex Milk" for D2.

Rip dinklebot We'll miss your silence And Nolan, shut the -blam!- up, you're not funny, stop.

Edited by Gunpowder Talon: 7/26/2017 9:46:05 PM16-20 year olds these days are like 10 year olds from previous generations. Staring at a phone all day doesn't promote intelligence. Concerning the Ghost, i did find it sad when he said "Guardian, something's wrong!", and passed out. I suppose he's there to give us emotional attachment to the story.

Because the writers are shit.
-
Lets be real for a second destiny is aimed at children from the easy to understand story to the basic pvp and the cheesy lines none of it is deep or complex
-
Destiny 2: Nathan -blam!-ing Drake acting like a 9 year old Diolague closer to "lol memes" than something closer to it's rating(s) (Pokemon has a more serious tone).
-
Judging by the majority of the comments in these forums, I would say that 90% of the player base are 10 years old.
-
Yeah, I want ghost to give me useless exposition on the components of Vex juice using made up sci-fi words. "60% plutonium dinitroscrubphate, 40% ants in my eyes Johnson." You want some Peter Dinklage ghost lines? "That wizard, it came from the moon." "We have awoken the hive!" You want these boring lines again. Face the direction the game is headed. I'd assume the dialogue has already all been recorded. They're not going to reinvent the wheel because some joe on the forums doesn't like the more fun lines.

Hey i LIKE vex milk.

Edited by Commisar Corgi: 7/27/2017 4:50:08 AMdinklebot sounded like he was only there to get paid. Northbot sounds like he's here to read bedtime stories to 6 year olds. Edit: Oh, and on the topic of nolanbot's actual "writing"? http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Flanderization

Now there are two rudiculously annoying AI's. It's like two Jarjar Binks battling each other with stupid jokes.

>sees only 5% of the game >Complains about dialogue

Rated T. That's 13, not 16.
-
You had the god of tits and wine who drinks and knows things get replaced by a patronising voice 'actor' who sounds like his balls haven't dropped yet and watches reruns of Jim Henson shows. That's why.
-
It $ells more copie$ when the rating i$ lower. Ju$t like pg-13 v$ R movie$ It really is a shame considering the want to include more of the great lore within the game but they make it too simple. We should really wait for final game and all content before passing judgement. It it still sucks then definitely rip into them.
-
Really, you guys are running out of things to complain, and so here we are.... people worried about dialogue. Its not a movie, its a video game. That means dialogue is probably the least important factor to consider in a video game.

Everyone's making jokes about the game's being "T" for Teen and such. Or, at least, I hope they're trying to make jokes. I mean, it's a terrible, unfunny joke, for sure. Because, otherwise, they'd be morons for thinking the rating meant who the target audiences are and not that the ratings board deems the content to be appropriate for that age group and above. I've never been one to get all fussy about not finding certain jokes funny, as long as I realized that it was supposed to be a joke.

They aren't funny and are horribly out of place. Just makes the whole situation feel awkward and it ruined the immersion.
-
I do agree though. Destiny is supposed to ignite wonder, not improv style comedy. While I simply ignore the dialogue the Ghost gives at times, because I am more of a "shoot first, ask/talk later" guy (Go Titans!), I can see how people would be turned off by it. Come to think of it, some of the dialogue reminds me of my younger brother when he was annoying. But then again, who would be a suitable replacement for nolandroid? Or better yet, perhaps we may get a chance to get our own choices of voices for them?
-
Why couldn't the ghost give out lore or have him give out tips to the current encounter. *when passing the vex waterfall* Ghost- "did you know that the vex are actually a liquid race called radioloria, hah I never know that until ikora told me" Or *starts the drill running part* Ghost- "guardian watch out the drills are deadly so we should try and stick to the mining paths"
