Rules and Moderation Feedback

There have been things brought up ever since the website switch in 2013. [Old website, for you newer folks.] One of the most talked about subjects to this day are the forum rules and moderation techniques on Bnet. I'll sport my 2 cents on these subjects and reference some older concepts:
Whatever happened to how things operated on the old website? This was the pinned thread on the old community forum. Isn't it incredibly clear and informational? It's wonderful that Bungie added in general information for what to post in forums in a pinned thread(that can't be viewed outside of "Highest Rated") and a link to the Code of Conduct before you post(see the small writing below "cancel/post"), but it's certainly not as helpful and clear as this is. Oh... BUT WAIT! There's this amazing link buried at the end of the vague CoC! I bet a lot of you didn't know about some of these things. Like, come on, why isn't everything sorted into one pinned thread(that is available to all filters) for each forum? Let's also not forget to question as to why that thread detailing the CoC isn't the CoC itself? It also wouldn't hurt to have a highlighted link to said pinned thread in the posting body so people can't miss it. Just some irritated suggestions from me. I'm not done yet. "If you disagree with a moderating decision, send the Forum Ninja responsible a message (check this article for tips)." WHY IS THIS NOT IN PLACE?! Seriously? No ban appeals? Hell, I've seen people not get any clarification or ANY message back about being banned. This irritates me tremendously. How can you expect to have a fair and efficient moderating system when you can barely understand/find the CoC and not have any communication with Forum Ninjas?! With the addition of PM/group bans, this has made things even more of a mess. I don't care if the user was in the wrong or not - they deserve an explanation and the ability to effectively question/appeal bans. Without any of this, there's a lot of room for accidental/unfair/corrupt punishments.
I have another point to make. Maybe it's a lesser one as I've had it argued against by Achronos(The Webmaster) himself, but it's still a view I have. Maybe you might also relate to this:
I understand that Ninjas can't get every post, but I feel like there's not a good number of them active and/or they depend on the report queue a bit too much. Maybe I'm being a bit too hard on them, but I find it ridiculous that they'll go as far as to ban people from saying "virgin", "Desticle", and other petty remarks, but don't seem to get to the more serious things quickly enough. Yes, I know that users should be reporting more and that it shouldn't be all about more Forum Ninjas or them patrolling the forum, but it's not really the user's responsibility to go looking for these things. I don't know. There's a lot of issues(IMO) with the way things are around here with moderation.
And as an extremely personal opinion, I don't think we should allow people to talk about religion/politics. These subjects create a lot of conflict and trolling material. I also don't think any spam/blog posts should be allowed either - every thread/post should create and/or contribute to a discussion. These aren't really issues as they are more of a personal preference than anything. I don't expect any open dialogue as I've(and many others) hammered MANY points around the site throughout the years with nothing to show for it. *shrugs* Just figured I'd do something since I was bored.
