The Burden Carried Within, Chapter 20: Splicers

I won't be very active for a while, I need to start studying for finals and stuff. Well, lookie here, we got to 20! Can I get a woop woop down in the comments!? Heh, well; enjoy this chapter! Btw I'm looking for 1 new main character to add into the story, if you want to see your character in an future chapters then feel free to message me! I'll only be getting one right now though, maybe more in the future. “About time.” Dart mumbled as he focused his scope on Banker and Vanara who were slowly and silently making their way out of the ketch’s loading dock. Dart looked around them and was surprised to see a small group of fallen run out of the ketch, they had their guns ready and split up; they were frantically looking all over the dock. “Come on come on, get out of there.” Dart mumbled once again as he looked at Banker and Vanara now running through the path they came from. He looked behind them and saw a fallen captain let out a loud command as another started running in the direction of the two. They’ve been spotted. Dart kept watching Banker and Vanara through his scope as they ran along the path they went in. He heard another loud and odd command and looked up to see a vandal aiming at them with its shock rifle. Dart quickly focused the center of his scope at the vandal’s head. Dart pulled the trigger, filling the air with the booming sound of his fired sniper rifle as the single bullet seemed to pierce the air itself as it flew towards its target. Dart saw through his scope his target’s body’s head explode as its body hit the floor; creating a small puff of dust from the impact. Dart, through his scope, looked at the stirred fallen now in panic; taking cover wherever they could. However Dart looked down at Banker and Vanara to see a still captain running after them while the second one was looking around, trying to spot him. “You think because you have a shield you’re soooo tough huh?” Dart silently mocked as he aimed at the captain’s head who was looking around for him. “Well, guess what,” Dart mumbled. “My sniper rifle is arc charged.” With that comment Dart pulled the trigger of his sniper rifle, filling the air with the booming sound once more as the lone bullet flew to his target. Dart would smile if he could as he saw through his scope the head of the fallen captain explode as its body fell to the ground, creating a slightly bigger puff of dust from the impact than the vandal. Dart jumped up to his feet at the sound of nearing footsteps. He put his sniper rifle onto his back, quickly drew his hand cannon, and began to aim at the path that lead up the cliff he was on. He was relieved when he saw Banker and Vanara running up “Go go go!” Banker shouted as he and Vanara ran into the cave they came through to get there. Dart hesitated and looked down the path to see a captain rushing up. “That’s it?” Dart thought to himself as he aimed his hand cannon at the captain. Right before he was about to pull the trigger, behind the captain popped up three vandals and two dregs. And behind them were two high servitors. “Where the hell did they come from!?” Dart shouted out loud as he put away his hand cannon. Before he could start running, a beam of energy from a vandal’s shock rifle grazed his elbow. He grunted in pain as he looked at the vandal that shot him. “Next time.” he thought before running into the cave. “Tell me where we’ve looked already, ghost.” said T.S, who was sitting down under a rusty and worn out sign, gazing out at the rusted ships and rockets that lay before him scattered throughout what used to be a filled with life area. His ghost appeared in front of him and looked up, as if it were thinking; trying to remember where they’ve been. T.S knew it was only a simulation they did, it probably new the answer milliseconds after he asked. After a couple of seconds, his ghost stopped looking up, pretending to think it out, and looked at T.S. “Forgotten Shore, The Blast, The Divide, Skywatch, King’s Watch, the Devil’s Watch, the, Gateway, aaaaaand… the Rocketyard.” the ghost answered. “There are a lot of watches.” it stated. T.S slowly nodded. “Yeah… there sure are.” T.S got up to his feet and looked at his ghost. “Anywhere we haven’t gone yet?” he asked. His ghost buzzed in the air and simulated the same thinking movement with its small spherical body and shell. It stopped and looked at T.S “Felwinter’s peak and the Plague Lands.” it answered as it buzzed next to its guardian’s helmet as he turned around and started to walk. “The wolves are smart- smart enough to get away from the queen with their heads intact. They won’t go to such a place such as Felwinter’s peak, it’s too risky. Yes, we’ll check the Plague Lands.” T.S stated as he continued to walk     “If they are in the Plague lands…” The ghost started. “Why do you think they’re there? The Devils are in control of Siva.” it asked as it hovered next to its guardian as he walked through the Rocket Yard. “Splicers will do anything for knowledge- anything to push their evolution forward, don’t you think they might even raid other fallen houses for it? After all, Skolas and the house of Winter splicers allied to raid the Vault of Glass.” T.S explained The ghost stared at its guardian. “Huh, guess you have a point. But why would they need, or rather, want a Warlock you suppose?” it asked. Suddenly T.S’ body stiffened and froze up, remembering the ogre whose eye was torn out and created into a gun. “We need to find Warden fast!” he suddenly shouted. “Take us to orbit Ghost, we’re going to the Plague Lands.” Warden opened his eyes to see himself in what looked like a makeshift lab. They were underground, that was for sure, he could easily tell by the rock walls and roof with metal beams supporting it. He tried to get up to his feet but found his wrists and ankles were bound in chains attached to the wall behind him. “A guy takes on nap.” Warden grumpily mumbled as he sat down in the empty cave laboratory place. Suddenly he heard a loud thud and looked up to see a single figure exit through a small cave mouth into the clear opening of the laboratory. Warden squinted his eyes, trying to see the figure better. It was a fallen, that was for sure, but it had odd black armor with what looked like red glowing veins running along it, in the center of the chest armor piece there was a single blue painted on symbol; the house of wolves symbol. It was a wolf splicer.
