Hope the PVP maps are more interesting than what I saw on D2 online?

Maps seem very......street linear. I get it will be in the city, but still was it just me? Ok so to all the replies, Bungie makes its day debut with that overly simplified map and you call me names? That map was crap. Not intricate or entering at all. Of course I know they will have other maps! No shit! But damn at least impress me with what you decide to open with.

  • Have you played on the map? If not opinion invalid, if so why does that bother you so much it's one map? Bannerfall is similar in design why complain now?

  • Well considering all of the maps in play right now pretty much suck lol, we may possibly be looking at some bad maps again.

    • "Impress me with what you open with" Why? Just who the hell are you? If this is your only complaint then I'd say they're doing pretty good. Either way people like you see a single pixel from the game and find something to cry about. "Hurr durr it's too square, this game sucks. Bungie isn't catering to me".

      • You know why simplified maps are great? Because there shouldn't be all those stupid -blam!-ing ledges and blades of grass that can trip you up or stop you when you're trying to flee or make a play. Poorly designed, overly complex maps affect gameplay. That's why bannerfall is a good map and asylum is -blam!-ing terrible.

      • Maps? They showed one map; which is called midtown; which is supposed to be designed like that. Who's your dealer? I need whatever he's supplying you with

        • They said they're designing maps around specific gamemodes so they'll probably get more interesting.

          • I believe they said they'll have a different crucible map designer this go around. They are designing the maps to be functional for PvP then skinning them to look like they belong in the Destiny universe.

          • I agree. Bad first foot forward. To me, it looked like an Overwatch map. I was not impressed. If the point of a gameplay reveal is to entice people to play, that map and that mode and those weapons did nothing to pique my interest. I'm hoping the beta shows something better. If it doesn't.... i'll wait until the game goes on sale or something. When Destiny first came out, there Werent too many options in gaming. Now, there are many more options. None of us should feel as if we have to buy this game. And none of us should feel butthurt if we choose to buy it and it underwhelms.

          • It might be only one map but am I the only one that thinks I've seen this map (in some iteration) on the newer modeled cod games (no reference at all to mw) more along the lines of bo color scheme and feel

            I think it looked more enjoyable than the maps we have now. In D1 they feel mostly cramped and claustrophobic with lots of crap lying about and to much junk to get hung up on. And for the love of all that's holy, make the walls flat!! Lost count of how 'nades I've thrown expecting them be directed perpendicular to me only to have them land in a tiny nook pointed back at me...fml

          • Why is the street an issue? You need better issues such as sight lines, symmetrical or non symmetrical, is there not enough cover? To much cover? Heavy/special placements, how are the spawns?

            • You don't seem to understand. Bungie only allowed a select few players to try out ONE new map. No more, no less. I don't understand why you said "maps". Seems to be quite a silly comment to make, but hey, mistakes help us to learn and improve. The map that players tried out is called Midtown, which is set in the Last City on Earth. This is why it was very "street linear" as you put it, which was obvious anyway. I don't believe anyone else was confused about that, besides you. I hope you understand that there will be more maps when Destiny 2 is finally released on September 8th, 2017. I don't want you to embarrass yourself further. Honestly though, check your facts you silly goose.

              • Yeah, they definitely need a -blam!- load more boxes, and a bunch of pointless -blam!-ing geometry that allows people to slide out of combat. I mean, how the -blam!- am I going to keep running away the entire match when there are open lanes designed for gun fights?

                  • Another thing Bungie's done to keep slow primary TTKs from sucking. Maps are more wide open. Less space to take cover behind when under fire.
