Well in the UK you finish the school section at about 16 but you then move onto the college part until you're 18. Then you either move further into education and go to uni or you cancel your subscription to learning and you're basically left without any current quests. You kinda just have to explore your little part of the world map to see if there's any quest givers that'll give you anything to do. If you're lucky then perhaps someone will take you under their wing and give you tasks that grant rewards of currency and maybe some small items on the side. It's not all bad once you unsub from schooling though, it can get a little dreary from time to time sure, but if you manage to find another player you like that also likes you enough back then you can join up to create a party. You can sometimes get some special perks or bonuses if your party works well enough as well. It can be pretty awesome actually...
