There are some questionable design choices. Not being able to play PvP with 5 other friends on the same team anymore is a big letdown. Having to put down your sniper just to use a rocket launcher in PvE also doesn't sound very fun.
I don't feel Destiny 2 will be the amazing game that everyone is getting on their knees and praising the heavens for.
It will have enough appealing elements to keep people grinding, but I believe it will follow the "one step forward, two steps back" mantra. Bungie will keep making poor choices that will hold the game back from reaching its full potential, just like what happened in D1.

When it comes to the redesigning of the weapon slots, let's just face it: Judging by raw DPS, snipers absolutely deserve to be placed in the heavy slot.

Etcetera (bump)

Omg im sure bungie didn't take the whole weapon slot into consideration for the second. Trust they know what they are doing. Otherwise you are torturing yourself. We haven't been shown everything yet so lets not assume the worst.
-
They've done the weapons this way so it actually prompts a choice, it's a good design decision in my opinion
-
They've done this because they can't balance the game. It's nothing about choice.
-
It's about both. And I'd rather see them admit failure than stubbornly keep nerfing everything into the ground.

Edited by D34N0000: 6/6/2017 2:10:07 PMAs would I. I just don't see this change happening if specials weren't such a problem for the entirety of D1. So to turn around now and say it's about choice. I just don't buy it.
-
You are correct, good to see someone that has common sense in here, bravo sir!
-
Yes it is. And yes of course it's also about balance games many of them change there approach and evolve to better suite balancing choices if it doesn't work out it will probably be reverted
-
Yep. As a PvE-focused player, nothing they've shown thus far gives me any reason to get excited. Quite the contrary, actually.
-
This! Also as a PVE player I'm worried it's going to be the same crappy single raid and 5 strike end game yet again.
-
Exactly how I feel, removing special weapons and adding a second primary is a bad choice, it's also allowing pvp to negatively impact pve before we even get started.
-
I'm seeing story and a lot more PvE. Not a PvP person so none of that bothers me.
-
While they are marketing it as "we aren't total dicks to pve players anymore" all their changes, except for more cutscenes, seem to be aimed at making crucible people happy....
-
Disagree.

I am referring only to what I have seen. When they actually reveal lost sectors and the other things I may change my mind, but until I actually see something new I won't assume it's anything more than "eliminate the target" patrols with yellow health enemies instead of strong red health's...
