What will happen to Destiny 1?
What will happen to Destiny 1 once 2 is released?
We know that our character progression and items won't carry over, but will we still be able to play Destiny 1 and will there still be some interesting events? Or are they just pulling the plug and abandoning it? We know that they will continue supporting Destiny 1 but what will that support entail? I don't just want to be able to do patrols and that's it.

Like most of Bungie's Halo games they will remain active for years but there will be no new events, updates or extra content. Then, after some time, they will announce that Destiny will be ending. In the end we only pay to rent the game.

The game will continue to go on as is, you can think of the support it gets as "life support". Unlikely to see anything new, just keeping the game running.
