I see a lot of people asking for the sleeper now. Is it better than the gally?
-
Sleeper is good for any raid! Gally is good for Any Crucible~!
-
Sleeper does more damage but requires more precison that can be messed up, gjallerhorn is good because it doe CONSISTENT damage not more and is good at clearing ads that is why most prefer it over sleeper, but sleeper does more dps.
-
I like gally if you gotta control adds in a boss fight like templar, I prefer sleeper for singular enemies.
-
Depends. Something like the Templar fight I'd use gally but sleeper is better for atheon. What sort of damage you want to put out matters and if you can get a critical shit matters.
-
Both are good. What are you talking about :)
-
It depends on what your doing
-
Sleeper puts out more damage, but Ghally is easier to use
-
Both.
-
For most strikes, story playlist and nightfall I will use gally. When It comes to raids, VoG I use gally for the first two encounters then switch to sleeper for the rest of the raid. Crota is gally throughout the entore raid. Kings fall is sleeper until oryx then I use ToM and a legendary rocket. WotM is sleeper for vosik, gally for seige engine and sword (dark drinker) for aksis phase one and two.
-
Sleeper... high risk, high reward. Check your shot angles. Useless for Crota if you have Gjally.
-
Depends on the activity.
-
Depends on the situation, but I personally love gjallarhorn for almost everything.
Sleeper simulant has a team shot DPS of 240,624 making it the optimal weapon for raid boss damage.
-
It's a tough call. The Sleeper, though, looks like it was made from SIVA (before there was SIVA), and does precision damage, and it is rapidly becoming my favorite sniper rifle. I still like the Murderhorn for area-effect mayhem, though. It's also better for pop out and shoot.
-
Depends on the engagement and your own personal accuracy. If you can hit consistent headshots, Sleeper is often better.
-
More damage and can carry more ammo, you get three shots instead of two before you have to reload. A hunter can carry 9 rounds with fusion rifle ammo boots(no chest piece with heavy for hunters) A warlock with starfire protocol and fusion rifle ammo boots can carry 12 rounds. A Titan with Armamentarium and fusion rifle ammo boots can carry 12 rounds

I kill myself with both. I use Swords

Edited by Biggs: 5/4/2017 2:04:25 PMDepends on the situation, as stated before. You're not gonna use a Sleeper on single normal enemies, or a group of enemies. A boss definitely. A Gjallarhorn would be a waste against a single type of enemy (even a boss), but for groups, they are definitely useful. Only issues with either of those is with Sleeper, you gotta make sure you shoot precisely and hopefully it won't ricochet on you. Gjallarhorn..basically just don't shoot it up close to an enemy, and you'll be fine.

Edited by zNapSack: 5/4/2017 3:43:35 AMNeither are always the best in every encounter. Both have their advantages in different situations. For critical hit damage against bosses, i.e. head shots, etc, the Sleeper Simulant is often better since it's a long range precision weapon that deals very high damage with near pinpoint accuracy. Think of it as a very high impact, high damage 'sniper rifle'. For example, against Atheon or Aksis the Sleeper Simulant excels, assuming you do your part and hit the critical. That said, there are other ways to deal damage to them as well but often over a period of time. For instance attacking Aksis' legs with an exotic sword such as the Dark-Drinker. For lesser enemies such as some Knights, bosses with a large critical hit area, or groups of enemies, the Ghorn is often more useful since being a high explosive warhead it has an area of effect damage radius, in addition to the wolf pack rounds which seek the primary target and/or sometimes nearby targets. It's a rocket launcher and not that much different than other rocket launchers except for the wolf pack rounds. If you currently have neither then I suggest the Sleeper Simulant since virtually any rocket launcher will often suffice if one is needed.

Both are good. It depends what are you doing.

Edited by skf4: 5/4/2017 9:05:23 AMSleeper can kill you with its ricochet to often 😑

Yes it is better. Wolf pack rounds may not even activate...
