• Oh, I have. The word darkness or light isn't used. It's the deep and the sky.

  • The words Light and Darkness are used extensively throughout the BoS

  • Extensively? The word darkness appears once. The word light apears but not in the context of describing the traveller. Darkness is used in the second to last verse to descibe the deep; by the author. Which is why "we" called the abstract evil darkness. If you pull up a web page and type control f you can do a word search by the way. Extensively. Yeah we ,the guardians, we are the bad guys. There is nothing either good or evil but thinking makes it so. -Shakespeare

The BoS make it pretty clear that Darkness=Deep and Traveler=Sky. Book 4
A Traveler. Divine presence of the Sky
Also
The Mast is full of the Light of the Traveler,
seems pretty much in the context of describing the Traveler And no, Guardians are not the darkness, neither is the Traveler/Sky.

  • Then where would the twist be? Dead soldiers rising from the grave destroying all other races. The Traveller bringing golden ages to civilizations then leaving including ours. Rewritting the timestream. Eliminating all of the Leadership of the Fallen. A warmind, created by us, giving us weapons to defeat the darkness, and also releasing siva on the Iron Lords twice. Yes, the guardians seem like a benevolent race.

  • How is accelerating civilisations to give them a chance against the Darkness or terraforming worlds to make them safe for life a bad thing? How is increasing lifespans and sciences a bad thing? The Traveller never left us, it had no intention of leaving. If it had not given the Fallen a golden age then none of them would have survived the arrival of the Darkness. You might have missed the fact that the Fallen sacrificed millions of colonists trapped in colony pods to their servitors, or did you think all those skulls and bones were papier-mache? The Warmind was not created by Guardians. Rasputin was corrupted by the Darkness, the only thing he is concerned with now is total victory at any cost, something he learnt from the Darkness, not the Traveller. Rasputin released SIVA against the Iron Lords as they were intruding in his domain, tampering with things they did not understand and could not control. The second outbreak had nothing to do with Rasputin - that was all Fallen. Rewriting the time stream? Nope, neither Guardians or Traveller has done that. Dead soldiers destroying all other races? Guardians haven't done anything close to that. The only race guilty of that is the Hive, they have destroyed thousands of worlds, all in the name of the Darkness. The deaths Guardians have caused are a spit in the ocean compared to those killed by the Darkness and its allies.

  • Seriously, The Darkness is the Deep, which the Hive worship - Oryx even states that. The Darkness/Deep opposes the Traveller which is the Light. The Books of Sorrow - written by Oryx, can't be any clearer that the Deep is the Darkness.
