A New Approach to How Raid Armor Works - Destiny II Suggestions

Raid Armor, in addition to its standard ammo bonuses, should implement a “Gear Bonus” system that rewards players for outfitting multiple pieces of the armor set by supplying additive bonuses. Here’s an example: Cuirass of the Hezen Lords *Pulse Rifle ammo *Shotgun Ammo “Hand of the Hezen Corrective“ Set 1: Increased armor while holding the Aegis 2: Increased agility while holding the Aegis 3: Critically killing a Vex enemy generates an Orb of Light 4: Increased Super gained by killing Vex 5: “Vault” weapons you fire deal additional damage to all Vex enemies *This is just an example to illustrate my idea. Keep that in mind.* So, with this example, you can see that the first few bonuses are specific to the raid, but as players add more pieces they get more general bonuses that apply to any PvE enemies based on the raid encounter the gear comes from (raid gear then becomes more useful for strikes and Nightfalls, instead of just the raid, as you "invest" your armor slots towards the bonuses). This approach rewards the player for “sacrificing” the use of an exotic armor in order to obtain powerful raid/PvE bonuses to compensate. Players would need 4 raid armor slots and a raid class slot to gain all 5 bonuses (weapons don’t count for the set bonus). Raid armor set bonuses don’t hurt PvP either because all of the bonuses would be specifically tailored to PvE gameplay. So, why bother with this suggestion to future content? Well, exotic armor still remains the “go-to” for armor choices in endgame and I feel like the raid gear should at least be competitive with exotic gear, not strictly less powerful than it. It makes sense, too – being completely outfitted in the raid’s gear should award you with a string of useful bonuses for tackling the challenge modes and more difficult aspects of the raid. What do you think? This type of implementation could be added to future raids in D2, maybe not the first D2 raid given the timeframe, but perhaps the expansion raids.
Moderator edit: This thread has been updated with tags that are more appropriate. Feel free to private message the moderator who moved your post, link to topic, for further clarification about why this topic was moved.
EDIT: Some people have mentioned that this change would harm "armor diversity". Please keep in mind that the introduction of ornaments allows for a more varied look. Bungie could add more ornament options to gear so that endgame gear can be visually distinctive but still be a powerful option for its associated raid.
