Tell me about it. As long as I had my special backing it up, I was comfortable maining my primary. But with special ammo gone, my primary-centered fighting style collapsed completely. Now, I mainly huck stickies and camp at doorways with Invective. In trying to force people to use primaries, they drove me away from them. When evaluating D2, I will do so with the assumption that its PvP mode will ultimately be rendered unplayable. If its PvE is worth enough in its own right, I'll still get it. If not, well, there are other games out there.

  • The whole point of PvP is to not always be comfortable. If you were always comfortable in every engagement, then something is OP about your setup and needs to be fixed. If you're having a hard time adapting to this better meta then you're just on the wrong end of natural selection my friend. Special weapons are powerful weapons that players should be able to access a few times a game. Think about it. If someone had at least one mag of shotgun ammo at all times, how well do you think auto rifles would fair against that? Both are designed for short ranged engagements, but shotguns have a much shorter ttk because they are supposed to not be accessed as much during a game as a primary. If you have two weapon types (auto rifles and shotguns in this case) that are both designed to be effective within the same range but one is better in every case (shotguns), then you make the other one (auto rifles) completely obsolete. This special ammo "nerf" basically made it so that now auto rifles can have a little more room to dominate within their intended range without always having to worry about getting pounded by a shotgunner. The same goes for scouts against snipers as well.

  • This isnt halo, these arent power weapons. They are special weapons, of which you should always have ammo for. When you use your special weapon should be based on situation, not ammunition.

  • You still have plenty of ammo for them. Ammo crates respawn numerous times throughout the match. I'm not saying that special weapons are OP or anything, I'm just saying that if you give weapons that are more powerful than another class designed for the same range a seemingly endless amount of ammo, you make the other classes obsolete because they will almost always get doninated

  • Yea but this game is about killing things- not ammo searching. I shouldnt have to go out of my way to find ammo in a fast paced fps like this. The second part of your response is the whole problem bungie has created by nerfing primaries to sh**. Had we buffed primaries back up to be able to compete with specials, we would not have had to do this stupid ammo nerf.

  • 1. They didn't buff primaries because primaries are already good. The whole reason everyone thinks they needed a buff is because of my example with the auto rifle and shotgun. 2. It's only an "ammo search" if you are relying on your special weapon because you spawn in with primary ammo. And if you're relying on your special weapon so much, you're the reason this "nerf" happened in the first place.

  • 1. Primaries need a massive buff. Their ttk is too slow to keep up with the movement capabilities, grenade/melee/super abilities, and special weapons in this game. The game was built to have faster killing primaries- it just was. 2. I do not rely on my special weapon- but I always need to have ammo for it, there is a difference trust me. I have always got most of my kills with primaries; but when you are using a handcannon- especially now that their range is absolute garbage, it is essential for you to have sniper ammo to give you the potential to engage at distances further than 30 m. For example the last word is basically dead because you cant pair it with a sniper anymore so unless the opponent is point blank you are screwed.

  • 1. The difference in ttk between this game and games like CoD and Halo is what makes it Destiny. If you want those ttks then go play those games. No one is stopping you. 2. No there isn't a difference because if you don't rely on your special, then you don't NEED ammo for it. And your example about the handcannon and not being good at a long range is something that I partially agree with. I agree with the part that I just stated; however, I disagree with the rest. You don't need a sniper to compensate for this lack of range. You said it yourself that movements and abilities are very powerful (which they are, but they're not OP), so use these (such as skating on a Titan, maneuvering mid-air with a hunter, etc.) to close the gap on a target to make them in the optimal range for a handcannon. As for The Last Word, again, it's viable if you use it where it is most optimal.

  • 1. Even when primaries killed at their fastest in year 1, this game played nothing like COD- it played like destiny. Now the game plays like halo. This game never played anything close to COD- at the lowest primaries had a ttk of .5-.6 seconds, COD weapons kill in .1 seconds... The argument that buffing primaries will make the game play like COD is and always will be untrue. 2. Destiny was setup from the beginning for your guardian to have a complimentary loadout where you would be able to fight at all ranges. This is only really possible by having ammo at all times in both your weapons. Against good players a lot of times you will be unable to close the gap and get into your primary's effective range- which is when you might need a sniper for example to challenge them at the range they are forcing you to play at.

  • Freal dude. You're secondary is supposed to be the counter part to your primary. Ex: Long Range/Close Quarters. A backup in case of an unexpected situation. You run around a corner with a hand cannon and see a sniper. U use you're sniper to fight back. You are using a scout rifle to fight long range and use a sidearm/shotgun to fend off ambushes. Now you dont have that back up unless you use regen weapons/sidearms. Just a lack of thought in my opinion

  • Not a lack o fthought.....just a broken vision. Instead of relying on our special weapon in those situations, Bungie wanted to force us to rely on other players....and team shooting.....just like players had to do in Halo. But....for the THOUSANDTH TIME....THIS GAME ISN'T HALO.
