If you could design a boss...

...what would they be, and what would they do? Feel free to go into as little or as much detail as you'd like! (I'll read them all!) Species, size, name, environment, support, mechanics, hobbies, etc. Specify it all! Destiny 2 is right around the corner, but we can always give the designers ideas for future expansions/sequels. Have fun!

I want a trio of large knights ( In between crota and oryx [level] size) #1:Degoth, The Eternal Blade Black and red armor and blade Ability: Cand rapidly swing sword up to three times without stoping. No ranged attacks #2:Zegoth, The Eternal Sentry Green and black armor and boomer Ability: Every time he gets a hit on an enemy he deploys 5 Axion Darts #3:Hegoth, The Eternal Mind Blue and black armor (unarmed but can melee) Ability: Can drain active supers for health Mechanics: There are three plates. One for each boss. After a few minutes of adds, a plate lights up. Stand on that plate to stun the corresponding boss. Now, depending on the plate (boss) one of three things will happen. If you have Degoth, A sword will spawn and one person has to pick it up. Only a sword can hurt him.The goal is to do as much damage (max:3/4 of his Heath) as possible. The problem is that only the sword wielder will die very quickly to his sword. The job of the others is to keep standing on the plate and not let a Purified knight (5 spawn but they are basically normal Knights) get to the plate. If you stun Zegoth, a path spawns in the air that you have to jump up to a relic that gives you ability to damage him with conventional things. If you stun Hegoth, you get a de buff called "The Mind's Curse" that will wipe your team unless you can find a relic (6 spawn around the room) that will cleanse you. Only once everyone is cleansed can you damage him. Then another wave of adds spawn and it continues. The first boss you kill will grant you all a buff called "The Worm's Might" that allows you to get bonus damage on the next stunned boss Hy killing more and more enemy's during the stun. After the second boss dies, The perk will stop. Then you have one more try to kill the last boss or you get wiped. Enrage allows them to move around the room, not just stay on there platforms. So what did you think? I'm not good at this. I wanted to somehow incorporate worms into this at the beginning, but I just thought a "last chance" mechanic would be nice.

    • As you deal damage against him it hurts you equally as much. His health is equal to the total health of all the guardians he's fighting. Team work, communication, and planning are required without a drawn out, random and awkward mechanics based fight... which always gets boiled down to the easiest cheese around the mechanic. Usually with one or two skilled players doing the damage or work.

      • Turric Psion World Holder. Defeat the lead Psion holding Photos. Enter the Moon Vice Chamber, scan a terminal to begin to power down the machinery. The centre opens up revealing Turric and his supporters Varok, Jyluc and Arund. As enemies enter, crates, plateform and dead enemies begin to rise up creating floating places to jump up too. All objects even air born guardians float slightly clockwise. After a short while a prompt that states "The air vibrates with energy" the shield surrounding the Psion glows rather purple, blue or red. You must use arc, solar or void to damage this part of the shield. The glow moves around so guardians must run to keep the shield damaged. If the shield isn't broken enemies spawn and rockets launchers are deployed that shoot seeking rockets. The launchers can be broken, but are replaced each round. Hold out until shield is shootable again. If the shield is broken, one Psion will be released. They will have a regular slug rifle, but will also throw crates and platforms at guardians. Their shield can only be broken with a super, upon breaking they can be damaged regularly. If they are killed the encounter continues with launchers spawning and enemies spawning. If it survives and enters the shield the whole team will be killed. Once all supporters are killed, the shield will vanish and all Guardian will begin to float up to the ceiling. If they touch the roof they will die, they must kill the Psion before this happens. Hope others find this enjoyable, and I'm open to feed back dears

Idk if this would be a raid encounter or strike boss fight A giant worm or something that chases you through a cave, and thralls also chase you like in crota you have a 10 minute time limit for this boss fight. At each bomb destination the worm dude will get stuck on something and you need to set off 4 bombs to damage him but they will also free him and make him become more and more enraged after each explosive which makes him move faster, giving you less time to get the bomb and plant it. The 4th bomb will be at the end of the cave which blows up covering your exit and killing the worm thing guy. And the boss spits a pool of acid at you 2 times when you're at the bomb phase - Need to set off 4 explosives, they take 7 seconds to arm. -To get the bomb you need to kill a witch that has it locked down by a forcefield then carry it to the point while your fire team protects you from the thralls that will be coming for you -When you start arming an explosive 2 yellow knights come out, 1 boomer and 1 with a sword, when you kill the sword bearer he drops his sword and you need to take the sword and use it to kill the boomer, that's the only way you can kill the boomer. -The only way to kill the boss worm guy is to set off all 4 explosives, he will be damaged by the each explosion blast which enrages him so he moves faster meaning you have less time to get the bomb and plant it. -At the end of the cave you HAVE to set off the last bomb before you escape other wise you all die

          • *Rubs hands together* Ooohhh yeah.... *Clears throat* Valus Tra'taun and Psion Flayer Ver'tug. Valus is a phalanx that has two arc shields and is completely invulnerable from the front, but his weak point is the back, and he moves slowly. Once he's in range, he will swipe at you with his shields. Flayer boy is trickier. He has a rocket pack and will periodically fly up in the air, and shoot fire at you. The fire pools last for 5 seconds. If either one die first, the other will enrage and start attacking faster, but take more damage from you

            • A Taken boss that looks like a "Frankenstein's Monster" of all the hostile races (being Fallen, Hive, Vex, and Cabal) that can employ the usage of various attacks that have been used by any previous enemies. It could be called "Embodiment of Darkness". Maybe it could use Guardian abilities that deal poison damage similar to the Thorn. Stuff like that.

            • Super Captain, Siva Source Light 400 is required to even damage him Relatively low health, but will regen to full health 3 times. Mechanics - Starts full health, regens health at 75% back to full with Siva shield - Reinforcements are called (6 Elemental Major Captains with Cannons) - Players must explode all 6 cannon shots at the same time on the boss to destroy the shield. - Boss regens his health to full when it reaches 50%, regens shield - Captains Spawn again - Players take down shield - Boss regains his health and shield at 25%. Final phase: - Captains along with Turrent Shanks spawn - once 5 Captains are defeated, Siva Density becomes critical - players must take out the last Captain and shoot their shot at the boss at the same time to take down his shield. - Boss damage will now OHK, but will remain vulnerable until defeated

              • I would make a boss out of a guardian that has been taken by the darkness. Make it just a little bigger than normal guardians are (for the intimidation factor) and give it similar movement and abilities as we have. Have it use dark versions of the best Year 1 weapons (dark Fatebringer, dark Icebreaker, dark Gally, etc.) and have a health bar with similar stats as other raid bosses. Put it in an arena that's just a little bit smaller than some of the Crucible maps. I want enough room to move around, hide, and play cat-and-mouse without worrying about losing it completely in a huge sprawling map. I just want something a little different than the mostly stationary bullet sponges or the mechanic-heavy fights we've seen so far. Give us a different challenge that makes us think outside the box.

Id just make a boss named Gary. It would be a giant version of Gary from spongebob. The only reason i would do this is because of Cayde in the destiny 2 trailer getting gol's name wrong.

                    • They could do a boss that siphons your super energy, and use your supers against you. Would make for an interesting fight, because it would be different depending on which supers the guardians have equipped. Or one that breaks out of the starting boss encounter area if certain requirements are/ are not met. This would force you to adapt on the fly to a new area, possibly also new attack. Also I would like a flying boss. Like a the Bond brothers, but with actual flight in a large area. (Slightly smaller than Skyshock) So you would need to keep adds under control while hammering the boss. Kind of like the mission where we go the the Iron Temple the first time, but with way more movement and adds. I think the two most interesting boss fights now are Sepiks Prime and The Nexus, because there are actual mechanics you need to use to kill them. They're just too short, too contained and too easy.

                      • Type: Strike (1-3 players) Environment: you begin somewhere within the Vex network. You fight through waves of Vex in order to attain a power core, which is required to operate the portal in the middle of the room. You travel from portal to portal, until you exit one and immediately notice a change of environment. You are now in a large room with a raised section at the back, and a distinctly Hive aesthetic. Boss: Nokris, Son of Oryx Nokris is ostensibly a yellow barred Hive knight that wields a sword. He has a OHK slam attack and actively chases players around the arena. Additionally, Nokris' sword attacks drain a percentage of the player's stored up super. Several Hive thrall will periodically spawn in to assist Nokris. Once killed, Nokris will be reanimated over a 20 second period. Indefinitely. Additionally, killing Nokris will spawn a Deathsinger- ostensibly Ir Yut from the Crota's End raid. This deathsinger will immediately begin the liturgy of ruin, and must be killed within 30 seconds. The Deathsinger will spawn in one of three locations on the raised platform at the back of the room. Upon killing a Deathsinger, she will drop a relic titled "Words of Ruin". Slamming this relic into Nokris will cause him to become torn between dimensions. The relic will disappear after a minute and thirty seconds. Players will have to coordinate the killing of Nokris and the Deathsinger, so as to allow him to become torn between dimensions. Once this is done, a player will have to use the power core (picked up previously) and infuse their light - by using the prompt when they have a charged super. The charged core can be used to turn on the Vex time gate. Which will suck the torn Hive God into several different dimensions across several points in time. Nearly every sign of Nokris is erased from the face of existence. And upon departure, no one can recall what has transpired.

I would make a couple super tough bosses: 1) Band of 3 or 6 rogue guardians: Basically they attack and respond like you're playing pvp against them, with evading mechanics and one of a kind supers which can be learned after defeating them. That would give some freshness to the pve population. They can have team skills /buffs such as "team red barring", "kicking you to orbit" or "randomly nerfing your equipped guns" 2) The architect The architect acts like the oracles, but location is random and he actually fights back. The point is he is everywhere and anywhere, kills you and leave you fuxking clueless. 3) DiJay, lord of the Cozmos DiJay is like an enemy Xur, he carry supplies with him as he deliver them to the other races. He appears randomly at any planet during patrol, once every couple months, and defeating him will grant you useless information of the game. 4) the Meta Human race small sized boss fight, equips all current/old meta weapons, all at their prime states. Boss fight has 3 stages, 1st stage: large map and the Meta camps with his Mida and Icebreaker. Find him out and defeating him would bring you to stage 2, where he escapes into a small, enclosed map and he switches to the Last Word and Metador Crasher +2. He can only be killed by fushions. Stage 3 is where he transform into Raspuking and attacks you with a built in Sleeper Simulant in a room filled with mirrors.

                          • Varli the Unseeing Race: Vex This boss would a slightly larger Minotaur with enhanced cloaking and teleportation. The boss fight would start with you walking into a very dark room (like the ones where you take out you ghost as a light) but your ghost wouldn't be able to make a light, leaving you in the darkness. The Minotaur would be the same health as a major, and would be bright white in color. The boss would be invisible most of the fight, making an occasional noise to spook the Guardian. The Minotaur has no guns, just dual swords on its arms. The minotaur would try and hit one of the guardians from behind, one shotting them. If the minotaur is hit before it attacks, its attack is cancelled. (You only have like a second to shoot it). Its invisibility core is then disabled for 10 seconds and it starts to teleport around the room, you need to shoot it at this time. It then goes invisible and resumes stalking you. If the attack from the minotaur is hit, the guardian hit is dead and the minotaur goes invisible again. The minotaur is meant to be unseeable, but that doesn't mean you can't hit it. If you want to fire randomly around the room to hope to hit it, thats ok. However, hitting the minotaur while its invisible does cause it to teleport so its not recommended. The minotaur will attack with intervals of 10-30 seconds after the last attack. meant to be a new and different strike. Not a bullet sponge, but very hard to hit.

                            • Name: Syndeon, Traveler's Bane Race: Siva Species: Siva Description: Literally the siva. This is a monster that uses siva to manipulate its body. The more damage it takes, the less siva it'll lose, and the smaller and more diverse its body will turn. An example is Master Core from Super Smash Bros Encounter First Phase: Appears as a huge cloud that then takes the form of a huge titan (So big its lower body will literally be under the map) and attack with siva swarms and lasers coming out of its shoulders, smashing the ground near you, and doing a thing similar to Aksis' wipe mechanic (However this will work like Oryx where you have to shoot its mouth before it "devours your light". There will be a new type of add called the Siva Disciple (Siva clouds with black siva cores as armor) that will spawn. Very few will spawn but when you kill them you get a power up called "Traveler Fragment". This drops because Syndeon took a huge chunk from the Traveler (Why else would the Traveler look like something ripped out the bottom of it). Once all team members have the fragment, (This requires no dying!) everyone will go stand on a platform in the middle of the map, a barrier will spawn, and Syndeon will do his wipe ability. In there you have to shoot him with anything that can do massive critical damage (Black Spindle, Sleeper...) and then Syndeon will scream and most of its siva will disappear. Phase 2: Checkpoint! Thankfully. Syndeon's body will then come back to life and the holes in his body will fill in and his body will turn to look a little like the Iron Lords' Sivafied bodies (But more horrific). This time Syndeon will get a gun. Platforms will appear around the map so far away nothing can reach them (Not even titan skate) and Syndeon will start sniping you (Instantly takes your shield the first shot, kills you the second). Even more disciples will come out. For every disciple you kill, a platform will appear in midair between the main map, and the outer platforms. Once a lot of platforms appear, one person will get an aura that will turn their screen red. They will get a timer of 1 minute. During this time they have to run towards Syndeon, dodge its shots, and slam him. If the guardian does slam Syndeon, he will be teleported to middle and damage will begin. You can 1 phase him but you might need 2. Once you kill that body, Syndeon will fall to his knees and once again there will be siva holes in him. Phase 3: Checkpoint! Thankfully, cause this one is a handful. Syndeon will become an AI controlled guardian. Yes, a guardian. He will run around the map and try to kill you. Thankfully he only has a twin swords (Which means he can attack really fast!) But, he is guardian sized. This fight will act kind of like a Crota fight. You have to shoot him with anything you have to get his shield down and stun him, while 1 person carries a railgun. That person uses it to shoot Syndeon. Criticals count here! Each mag has 30 energy. Infinite carried capacity. This shoots fast with 10 shots per second (Reloads immediately after an empty mag). If you shoot him from the time he gets stunned to the time he gets back, the railgun will get him a quarter. Many disciples spawn here at the beginning but others won't spawn. Syndeon is playing this safe which means he will avoid all types of light (Which means he won't attack anyone in a bubble or a warlock using self resurrect!). Once you do kill him, the screen will say, "The Traveler is waking, but something still endangers it." This will lead into Destiny 2! Rewards After Phase 1: 2 types of armor pieces (Arms and Legs), a heavy weapon, and a Siva Ornament (Different from a Perfected Ornament). Yes, I said and. Plus, the armor has ornament slots! After Phase 2: 2 types of armor pieces (Helmet and Chest), a ghost/artifact, a special weapon, and a Siva Ornament. After Phase 3 (This one's gonna be good!): The class item, 2 Siva Ornaments, and... An exotic auto rifle with 50 rounds in the mag, max stability, and it has 2 exotic perks. Every 10 shots will emit a stationary siva cloud that damages enemies inside. It does have a burn (Solar). And the best perk that should be added. This weapon can be equipped with a second exotic weapon.

                                • Race: Vex Species: Hydra Name: Senex Phase 1: Fight: All 6 players must stand on a "Summoning Circle which will trigger the boss fight. Now in this state, he will only have a shield, similar to that of the Undying Mind. Gradually over time, his shield will change forms (Sekrion and Templar type shield) At around 25% He will summon "Spectral Minotaurs" which will refill his health to full if you don't kill them quickly. After you defeat him, he and the floor will collapse leading you to a massive underground room with an enormous minotaur statue in the middle The fight starts when someone approaches the minotaur. Phase 2. "Senex, The Universal Mind" Fight: This fight is taken place in a massive room, with the Senex possessing an enormous minotaur statue, that will crush you to death if you don't get to the ledges scattered around the walls. Senex is immune to any damage at this point. tons of harpies and hobgoblins will be summoned, after killing all of them, a "Spectral" Hydra will spawn on the ground level, 1 person must go down and kill it, it will drop a " Orb of Life" which the player must maneuver to the top of the room and chuck it at the minotaur's eye, which will shatter it allowing you to attack the Senex (The eye is his shield) The attack time is 30 seconds, then he will stabilize, while he is stabilizing, he will unleash " Stabilization burst" which will kill any players that are not on the "Eye" platform. Rinse and repeat until he is at 1% hp, a message will pop up saying "The Senex's shield is destroyed" then his final move will say "The Senex activates Self Destruct Mode!" where he will kill himself and everyone else on the field, if you do not kill him in these 15 seconds.

                                  • A large Vex construct that has body parts similar to a Hydra only it is much larger and very long. The boss fight is bassically fighting of swarms of harpies that fly around you as you move over the oversized vex to dismantle it before it does the bad thing it was made for. You have to dismantle it by activating vex tech that the beastie is moving past to get the tech to overload and damage parts of the beastie. When most of it is disabled it stops and then you have to fight the beastie itself. It hurls massive blasts of void energy that leave poisonous black clouds and breaths plasma laced with lightning it torrents. Instead of actually damaging the beastie though (as it just takes to much damage) the actual plan is to activate this large Vex tech device that it's currently sitting inside when you face it down. Activating the device deals the killing blow. Once it is dead though the mission isn't over. All these devices you've activated are part of a network that is now powering up to destroy Mercury (mission location). You have to race the clock to turn off all the tech before the timer runs out. The bad news is that it also reactivated all the vex gates. So vex are pouring through in droves. If you fail, the Traveler's sacrifice to stop the Vex on Mercury will have been for nothing and the Vex will claim it for their own!

Brother Mediate: The Mad. Location: Mercury. Plot: Humanity's situation is dire. In desperation, we've reached out to Osiris on Mercury for assistance, and in response; coordinates. This is suspicious, seeing as it seems as though the transmission didn't emanate from a particular location or individual, but from the planet Mercury itself. On arrival, it is immediately apparent that things are awry. Obvious signs of conflict with Vex spread throughout the encampment, all leading toward a de powered Vex portal. (If you've been to the lighthouse, similar vibe, but larger and more "permanent", if that makes sense). Whilst scanning the area, the portal starts up. "h-... -ease! Please! Hel- ... -e!" Choppy words struggle to escape the vortex, then silence. The portal is dead. "We'll need a new core if we want this portal operating again. This one's been scrambled." Ghost explains. You go hunting for a replacement core, and eventually find one, that's hooked up to a laser track. Your Ghost accesses the Vex system and sends the core along the track towards the encampment. A moving 'defend the core' ensues, with both enemies and the environment attempting to slow your progress. You manage to get the core to the end of the track, pick it up, and place it in the dock associated with the Vex portal. The energy swirls to life, and with it, the voice from before. "Pleas-..." The word cuts short. You enter the portal. You find yourself stepping out onto a round pedestal, high above the techno-filled desert sands of the planet. Cowered in the centre, a figure cloaked in black and gold. The hood does not turn to acknowledge you. "Please, help me... Please, anyone, help me..." As you step forward, the figure flickers, then teleports a couple of metres to the side. "No... NO! Get out of my HEAD!" If you move forward again, the figures shimmers, then disappears. You look around, but they're nowhere to be found, until walk up to where they were hunched. "Please, get out of my head." from an unknown location. Mechanics: Blocks of cover emerge from the ground around the arena. Brother Mediate shimmers in and out of existence in a pattern throughout the space. The player anticipates his next location and waits for his appearance and a "melee R1/RB" prompt. The hit stuns him and allows for damage for a short set amount of time or until he gets to two thirds health (in extreme cases). He then disappears. Vex start teleporting into the arena and attack you for 30 seconds. "NO! Stay away... STAY AWAY!" Void energy starts spiralling from the centre. You have to jump up on cover to avoid it. Vex blocks fade in and out of existence leading up to where Brother Mediate is above the arena. As you make your way up to him, you have to jump between platforms to avoid concussive void blasts that are raining down at a slow, but steady pace. Once you make it to his platform, it's a basic firefight whilst dodging void shots and anticipating his teleports. When he gets to half health, "FALL!", he then appears mid air and nova bombs the stage, tearing it apart and causing you to fall back to the original arena. You have to time your double jump to avoid damage. The fight then repeats itself, with him teleporting in a pattern. Conclusion: Instead of dying, he collapses. "Please..." Suddenly the same shimmer effect as before brings forth another figure cloaked in a robe. "I am here, my brother..." Brother Mediate falls unconscious. The newcomer turns to face you. "Thank you, for sparing him. His thoughts were not sound." The portal used to get to the pedestal hums with energy. "You need my help, yes? Unfortunately, it is I who requires assistance before I may lend my own. Come." Osiris steps through the portal and disappears.
I am so sorry - I didn't think it would be this ridiculously long. Was fun to write nonetheless!
