Destiny 1 items in Destiny 2
What exactly is being transferred besides your character's cosmetics? Does grimoire carry over and do emblems and shaders carry over?
Personally I hope not, while these things are cosmetic they give you a ranking almost because people will respect you more and I think it isn't healthy for a new game, maybe even the emblems for Destiny 1 achievements are too much. I stopped playing after the first SRL event and want to return to the game. I had full grimoire/achievements/exotics when I quit so don't get the wrong idea here! :')
I feel like starting completely anew would actually be really refreshing like back in the Destiny 1 beta when all anybody had was what they found from loot. That was the true golden age imo.

If they don't decide to HEAVILY rework emblems. I think what will more than likely happen is general emblems you've earned in-game(D1) won't carry over. As for account tied emblems... (Code emblems, community emblems) Those will more than likely carry over. An emblem obtained from slaying crota in D1 will be irrelevant to events in D2. But a MOTW emblem, or an emblem obtained for supporting the bungie foundation and similar emblems seem more meaningful overall instead of just being a D1 activity.
