Since it won't be in Destiny 1, let's think about this: physical blades in Destiny 2. Since the Vanguard is nearly in ruin after the invasion, it's only natural Guardians should cut down on bullet expenditure. Therefore, what say they craft an answer, say a sword that doesn't require ammo and fits in their special ammo slot? I don't know what Golden Age material is really the "strongest," I didn't read the Grimoire Cards, but "kinetic swords" will be perfect for delivering that rugged, survival theme that Destiny 2 is gonna be offering. There could be simple machetes that handle similarly to hunters during their Arc Blade routine, or long swords that handle similarly to the Hive Blades. But no Katanas, that's going too far. Katanas wouldn't cut through Cabal armor and they break easily. Also, the player would regularly sacrifice some armor materials to "repair" the blade at the Gunsmith every return made to the Tower. They could name it, ornament it, or even upgrade it with future updates made alongside DLC so Activision's a little happy too. (We all know ornaments and other novelties won't be free.) What do you guys think?
