Hey guys, I wrote a short Destiny story

I originally wrote this story before rise of iron released and it has just been on my computer gathering metaphorical dust. So I decided to share it with you guys, please tell me what you think and yes I really did write this. In a way I believe this story is my own guardian's dead ghost fragment. The taste of blood is in the air, not from war but from the rust of the decaying buildings of the Cosmodrome, the space exploration centre was once the greatest place for technological advancement, but now it rests silent on Earth. A gentle breeze of wind swept across the plains bringing life to silent trees as they swayed back and forth. I stand here in the graveyard where skeletons have rested in a time long since forgotten, not of people but of once mighty aircrafts of the Golden Age. In the center of the Cosmodrome stood a giant of human scientific advancements casting upwards to the fading stars. The giant of great hopes for humanity loomed over the abandoned rocket yard, casting its shadow towards the west. Even though years had passed since the collapse of humanity, the rocket stood as proud as ever as a reminder of what could have been, but in the end was not. The warm colour of the fiery sun at dawn brought life to the dull plains as it rose into the gap between the ground and the clouds, turning the browns of the leaves and grass to shades of red like the crimson blood of soldiers. That wasn’t too far away from the truth. Many years ago, this Cosmodrome was once home to my people, to a war, to the dead. The plants that grew here once lived off the same blood of the poor people of this Earth. We belong to this Earth after all. When they invaded, it was the end of society and humanity, as we knew it. All communications between Earth and the outer colonies were lost, Rasputin ceased to operate and shutdown all of Earth’s defences, we were unarmed. Those poor people, the rocket couldn’t take off, from the inside of the walls, citizens were tearing each other apart, outside the walls our invaders were tearing it down, until there was nothing left, they were pigs to a slaughter house. The glimmering sunlight made the patches of frost sparkle as it began to warm up, as I felt the rays of sunlight against my skin. It brought forward another day, another day without disaster. The sky, scattered with clouds, shed blue light between the openings like torn sheets in the wind. The moon glowing in the north slowly became lonely as the clear sky of distant stars slow disappeared as the day grew. The rumbling of distant storms echoed through the wind like a wailing ghost. The clouds meant business and business meant storms filled with rain and hail, and where there’s thunder, there’s lightning. But the loudest sounds could be heard all around, and close. They never left this land, they drove us out of our homes, they took the lives of our loved ones and there was nothing we could do about it, but there was one thing for sure, they were going to pay for their actions. No animal would cry to break the silence; fear had already made them flee to a place untouched by war, that place I hope to find. The Skyshock building stood proudly on the hill I faced, the dry leaves and grass crunched beneath my boots as I stumbled up the hill. I wore battered iron armour that was forged in flames brighter than humanity’s past. The armor was peeling from age and wear, scarred by fights of tooth and claw, riddled with bullets. As the silhouette of the building drew closer, they became louder. I approached the main door, taking one last look around outside, embers filled the sky, they were up to something, and it didn’t look good. We all knew the fiery ash came from the volcanic Plaguelands. Something bad was happening behind the curtains of war. I took hold of my golden pristine revolver and grasped it firmly, not planning to let go. It made me feel safe. It was weapon of legend past down through the generations of fighters. The Last Word, a gun that would never start a fight, but could finish one. I wandered down the poorly lit winding corridors as if it were a maze. This complex served a purpose, it was a part of a satellite array used to connect with the outer colonies of the Ishtar collective on Venus and the city of Freehold on Mars. The power to the complex was lost long ago, and now they control the complex, making sure it never turns on again. Up ahead was a large room, frayed cords hung from the ceiling and the atmosphere felt musty. On the other side was a scouting team of them, I did not hesitate to jump in between them with a flash grenade at hand, and detonated it, blinding them. They were our enemy, we called them the Fallen, and they are beings from outside our solar system from a once great civilisation turned feral after civil wars and eventually the collapse of their own society. As I stare upon their bodies, the itching thought in my head came to the front of my skull. A thought that I have always tried to keep buried so I have a reason to kill them. I always saw them as invaders, since my first breath, but they are running, they are scared, they just want a place to call home. In the end, we are the same, we are both afraid of the darkness, afraid of the night, and dread what will happen, if the night answers. Some information here may not be lore friendly but whatever...
