The Physiology of Guardians

Hello everyone, Muzzy here. Today, I want to explain the physiology of Guardians and hopefully clear up a few misconceptions about what they can and can’t do. NOTE: This strictly applies to Human and Awoken Guardians as we don’t know how Exos work in the lore yet. 1. Guardians have limitless (or near limitless) energy. Have you ever wondered how it is that your Guardian can sprint without ever needing to rest? This is because a Guardian’s body is filled with a power known as Light. Light, alongside giving Guardians amazing abilities to be used in combat, also acts as an always-on power generator, giving energy to the muscles of a Guardian, enabling them to sprint for incredibly long periods of time. 2. Guardians need to eat and drink. Despite having limitless energy, Guardians apparently do need to eat in order to survive. While many people believe that Guardians do not need to eat or drink, they actually do. Why this is a necessity when Guardians are regularly being resurrected and don’t need the energy from food anyways, I don’t know. 3. Guardians don’t age. I’ve discussed this before in another post, but it merits mentioning again. After being bonded to a Ghost, a Guardian becomes immortal. The Ghost has the ability to completely regenerate matter, by either taking molecules and breaking them and reforming them into what is needed to make a body, or by completely breaking physics (which the Light and Traveler already do, so…). Because a Ghost can rebuild a body even after complete disintegration, it also has the ability to replace/regenerate and dead/dying cells that make up a Guardian’s body. This is why we don't see any organic Guardians with prothetic replacements. The Ghost can just rebuild the limb after the Guardian's next resurrection. 4. Guardians have increased physical strength While I’m sure that most of you are shaking your head and thinking something along the lines of, “well duh,” it’s still something that needs to be said. Everyone knows that Titans have immense super strength that far outclasses the other Guardians. What you may or may have not known is that all Guardians benefit from increased strength, not just the Titans. (Although the Titans obviously have even more than the others.) That about wraps this up. Let me know what your thoughts are in the comments and be sure to bring up any other points that I may have missed. Have a fantastic day, Guardians.
